So this folds the mirrors in when you turn the truck off and fold them out when you turn it on?

Yes. When the truck is on (ignition) the relay is powered and simply passes the signal from the mirror fold button as normal. When the ignition power is off, the relay switches over to battery power on the fold circuit (double-throw relay) and folds the mirrors in. As soon as ignition power is restored, the circuit returns to whatever setting the fold button is currently in.

Sounds neat at first but just something to wear the motors out faster. And they aren’t cheap. Who needs the mirrors to folded in everywhere they park? I only do it in tight spaces, when parallel parking, and at the car wash.

Easy enough to add an override (I’ve thought about it) - a switch that interrupts the BAT power to the relay when you want “auto fold” off. And plenty of vehicles have the feature from the factory, including some Toyota and Lexus vehicles. I’m not saying these specific motors are or are not built for that, but that as a whole I don’t think it’s going to be the failure point of the mirrors. I’ll let you know when I’m nearing 300k like my previous Tundra.

The one included in the kit, their universal lip mount. I was going to make a bracket similar to a ditch light bracket but this was easier.

Snipit from our conversation where I asked what he had.

    *********
    That say TRD, I have:
textured black with gloss red TRD
gloss white with gloss black or gloss red TRD
army green with gloss black TRD
    cement with gloss black TRD
Brushed aluminum with gloss red TRD
gloss red with gloss black TRD
    raw aluminum with no coatings
textured red with gloss black TRD
I also have some 1794 and TRD pro if you are interested.
I also have some that have no TRD on them.

powder coated versions are $85 + shipping. Raw aluminum is $65 + shipping. I need a zip code to calculate shipping.

@trevorklat I also have Entune Premium on my 16' SR5 (factory navigation and amp, but no sub). Could you give me some details on how to do an update? Does this update have more current maps on nav? Thanks!
