I swear, you guys weren’t kidding when you go below the sweet spot offset of 18 and 25… holy cutting. :sawzall:

The wheels are 12 offset, so you guys who are running 0 offset wheels…

Anyway, I figured out what was currently rubbing without the alignment. It was the bottom portion of the fender well that was catching when I was turning full lock. Now when turning full lock, I’m touching the pinch weld and the body mount.

Next up is to cut the caps, so when I get an alignment, I won’t rub up front.

So the orange area was where I had cut, and the hole which the fender liner was mounted on, I had folded it back.

For those going below 18 offset… be ready if you’re willing to cut, cause you’re going to cut a hell of a lot.

And if you’re cutting your fender liner, this tool cuts it like butter.

We’re on 2.3” up front, 3/4” in the rear.

The cut came out better than expected! Was going to do the viper cut, but she said she didn’t like that look.

So now to get an alignment and adjust caster…

Kinda hard to tell, but it sort of looks like you might have an issue in the back if you land hard or compress the springs any other way. Maybe just the camera angle or my bad eyesight though. Will it clear if frame is at bump stops?

Does anyone in San Diego have 37s on 18r +25s I might be able to test fit before I attempt to make the jump? I have Method 701 18r +25 wheels on now with toyo 295/70

    You’re right!

Lmao, I probably won’t be jumping or anything any time soon. I’ll still need some front and rear bump stops later.

Right now, I’m in need of 5-6* of caster and reset my toe. Mostly doing forest service roads, so nothing extreme.

She’s going in for an alignment today.

Aiming for 5-6* caster, total toe .24, camber 0.

Let’s see if we can center the wheel in the wheel well so I can push my wheel away from my body mount!

Was talking to Mike (@eccracer104) and he had Firestone lifetime too… thank goodness that I was able to get lucky with an alignment guy that knows how to get those numbers!!! So now that lifetime alignment is definitely worth it!!!

    I’m running SPC @ A setting.

Had some free time today, so I went in and cut some more :sawzall:

Trimmed the bumper caps another 2” and rigged the 12mm bolt that was holding the bumper cap to the fog light sub frame. I had cut it and then saw that it was too loose. Figured I was going to rivnut it, but then realized that I can just drill a hole and re-use the piece I had cut.

    04D3F814-C93A-4672-A3F6-E03860AE53F4.jpg

Then we went down town with the BMC, AGAIN… it’s probably my 3rd time chopping it, but I think I’m fairly confident that it’s as aggressive as I can get it.

Recently picked up a set of used General Tires Grabber X3 for a steal - treads measuring all at least 13/32 so we’re at roughly 60% life which definitely isn’t too bad!!!

My Toyo Open Country RT are sitting around 6-7/32 I believe… so I may run these set until end of summer and then swap over the Grabber X3 for Fall/Winter.

    4E2D46B0-035A-47FE-808D-8BBAF79ADDBC.jpg

I got my tires balanced again, took out those damn beads and then used hammer and tape weights. Rides perfect now and no more steering wheel wobble at 55-65mph.

I bought mine (Beast) from Discount Tire on eBay but it also didn't come with a cover or bag. I think they did away with them. As for storage I just keep it in my truck box along with all my other gear (jack stands, recovery strap, jumper cables, 6 ton bottle jack, extra coolant and water, and various blocks of wood)

I have mine pushed to the back and ratchet strapped down onto the bed with my d-rings. Have a cable locking the Pro Eagle to the bed.

I'm running a tonneau right now so it's covered, but I do eventually want to pick up the Pro Eagle mount.

I thought about it too. Cheapest I found was something like $160.

Exactly. The Beast is a bit more but still not paying $160 for something to hold my jack. It does quite well in my truck box

I hate that I discovered this thread. [IMG]

I’m planning to keep the OEM bumper as I prefer the look. I’ve read half this thread and understand there’s a lot of cutting to do. Any gen 2 owners out there that kept the bumper have advice? Mine is currently cut up for 35’s so somewhat hopeful.

What I did to make it fit even though I'll be building a pre-runner tube bumper soon. Everything cut was determined with the struts removed and the arms in full jounce so that the tires were contacting the quarter panel (worst case for +10mm offset). No idea if this all applies to 2.5s. Also, am assuming your pinch welds are handled.
    • Pulled the liners (air box inlet is now exposed - new problem)
    • Trimmed some metal supports/stays behind the headlamps
    • Pulled the SAIS pumps and installed the Hewitt kit (can't remember if a hose and filter relocation would prevent removal - tires contacted molded hosing)
    • Trim the fascia wherever the tire contacts when turning
    • Install Durobumps to basically make all of that work pointless and add some peace of mind

Its not really that difficult to fit the 37s. Obviously get the CMC/BMC done. Pound down the pinch weld. Then just get an angle grinder and chop off 2" of the bumper end caps. I ran mine like this for 6 months before buying a aftermarket front bumper. If you keep the stock bumper, it looks fine after trimming. The only person who will notice the cuts are yourself.

    Thanks guys. Very helpful.

planning on do pinch weld soon. I have timbrens off road bump stops in the back. Also have CB bump stops for the front but still in the box. @Boisefly, the gen 2 RW’s bumper didn’t come with end caps. It’s all one piece bumper. But I’m prepared to hack the bracket holding the liner.

Those that are running SPC’s, what configuration are you running? Currently I’m using “D”.
