You should have said you're allergic to soy and drop on the floor kicking and writhing like you're having convulsions.

    Damn, what a guest!
When we did headers this weekend, me and the other helper pretty much brought all the tools needed for the job, he only had to get out vice grips to help loosen my oil filter

My workbench vices were dads and grandpas, and i’ve had this vise for 5 years or so, and hadnt ever bolted it down. So i bolted it to my old welder cart, and it managed to come in handy for the knuckles. When i got it back home it’s already come in handy several times. I didnt know i needed this in my life.

I'm telling you it does get better, even if it doesn't seem like it.

You know, depending on how you look at this, it's possible this is a blessing in disguise.

Finally, the universe gave the tent of pain a taste of its own medicine.
Alternate take could be the universe is trying to say "fix yourself, not your things".

Feel free to exchange "universe" with whatever noun you prefer.

Turns out that air tank I put under the bed does hold pressure. It sat over night and in the morning I put a hose to the remote quick connect at the bumper and it took a lot of push to get it in. I didn't gauge the tank, but it felt like over 100psi easy. I have a check valve to the tank which means the compressor only feels the line pressure. The line has so little volume in it just back bleed will trick the compressor into switching on and off.

I had to pull the front wheels to adjust the coilovers, so for fun I grabbed the 1/2 impact and ran it off the tank to remove the lugs. Pretty cool.

My thought was it's probably better for the compressor to not back bleed the whole tank every time I fill it. When I realized the ARB quick connect has a built in check valve it seemed like more evidence. And my hope was that if I wanted air on short notice for say an air horn, it would be in there if I didn't recently drain it.

So I don’t even have the arb chuck on mine and my tank never bleeds back, I can come back a month later and the tank is good to go. I’m guessing the pumps must use some sort of reed valve that prevents back pressure thru the compressor

That could be. I have a strange setup with two remote fill areas, one after a tank and one on a manifold right next to the compressor. The ARB QC with the check valve in it may just be a fail safe so that you don't drain your tires if you drank too many beers at camp and forget to disconnect your hose. I don't know where I'm losing that line air, but maybe I'll pull the check valve on the tank and fill it and let it sit overnight. Soapy water hasn't shown me any leaks so far.

i think you need an electric valve that opens an airline into a whoopee cushion. With onboard air comes great responsibility, and being able to make your truck make fart noises.

I can jump scare the passenger by switching the compressor on since they are sitting on top of it. But farts...

I may have over built/complicated the thing. I'm going to pull both check valves and try that. Since I can isolate the manifold from the tank or open it all up with a manual valve, that will give me either tank, or if attached, tire pressure with the same gauge...
