They're probably full of it. Take a look at the adjusters for the lowers.

The rear ones should have the bolts pushed fully to the outside (towards the wheels) and the front ones should be mostly inwards.

 

Do the goobers at Firestone even know how to handle those aftermarket UCA's? Are those not more adjustable?

And yeah, I agree with everyone else. I set the tabs to eyeball center and got 1.6 on the driver. I bet if I would have pushed the passenger rear out it would be close to the same and would have evened out that negative camber.

God I wish we had another day.

 

No I guess I am the donger. I just assumed all the aftermarket UCA's had some adjustability.

It's hard to find a shop around here than can do a proper alignment with my SPC arms. I have to go to the 4x4 shop and last time they were assholes about it.

 

I'll throw the AAL in and level the truck out then take it to a different firestone here. Maybe they'll have a competent tech. If not, we'll do a good adjustment when I make my way down there.

 

Freedoms are basically just to get more.....freedom.....in your UBJ when lifting.

 

So, solo motosports brings out the extra caster LCA’s and alignment shops just ‘happen’ to forget how to adjust for caster…

 

I would suggest you show/tell @bmf4069 how to do that if he doesn't already know. Something tells me that's too complex an operation for the employees at Firestone.

That way he can revisit them for an adjustment that's close to how it should be considering he got the lifetime "all-we-do-is-adjust-toe" package.

 

He showed me, but we were both kinda inebriated. I got the gist of it though. It's those cam bolts that kinda confuse me, and I don't wanna fuck with toe. I hate tie rod ends.

 

3 years ago when I installed the SPC uppers on mine I had to drive back to the shop to show them how to add more caster...even though I left the instructions with them. So I'd say they mostly just want to fiddle with the cams and get the pretty green colors.

 

I thought freedom added 2-3 degrees of caster. I'm not buying firestone's explanation. I also have the lifetime alignment and I called a few different ones until I found a guy who knew lifted trucks and aftermarket parts. (my old lifted tundra on stock arms had that much caster).

Also, I think SPC are the only arms that are adjustable. JBA add more caster but don't have the adjustable ball joint SPC does.

 

I’m one of those people who isn’t exactly great with words so I just say fuck a lot.

Trust me, I think they all heard enough of it last weekend.

Dont forget to set your ride height before making other adjustments, if that missing inch of lift on the driver side really bugs you. Maybe check height at the body mounts to make sure its not a misalignment with a fender.

After talking with the guys at the specialty shop, I'm gonna put in the AAL, then lift the front more. They're gonna level it then I'm gonna take it to another firestone. They can handle lifts at the other one.

 

Tell them you want:

-0.1 camber
2.8 caster
.15-.20 total toe (.07-.10 per side)

 

I gave them JD's specs, but they couldn't meet them because my uppers drooped too much.

My uppers outers are way higher than the inners. You’re should be closer to level? Or are your outers lower than your inners?

 

zoomed out so i can fit the pic kinda fish eye’s everything. But, by droop, do you mean your upper arms have dropped past level and your ubj’s are lower than your uca bushings?

Sorry to disappoint but it wasn’t my greatest. Wife and I went to go grab drinks & dinner and I guess somehow my fire went out. So it got about 2 hours of smoke and then about the same time to cool back off. Lit it back up for another couple hours but started dozing off around 1:30 so I just bailed, wrapped it and put it in our oven.
