What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Are these the right lines for a 4wd AC? The description is kinda vague.

 

It looks like they list the Toyota part number there at the bottom. Can you cross reference those on Toyota website?

 

I'd think it's a little bit easier to tell when they go bad if you have a double cab. My rear driver door would stay open on slight inclines while my front driver door wouldn't. After replacing the front door check, they both stay open in the same circumstances.

 

Any way to protect the door check from wearing out prematurely?

 

I reread your message and saw you were questioning more how they go bad. I would think a killer for them would be opening the door and letting it swing open and bounce off them, like when the front of the truck is on a decline.

My driver's one is the only one that has worn out, probably since it gets the most use. Same thing on the Tacoma. I keep a small 2x4 to prop my door if I need it open a longer time, like when camping.

 

If it's actually the pressure hose that you messed up, I would suggestion taking it to a shop and having them rebuild it. Will probably cost 20 bucks and be same day turnaround. Will also be better than that new one imo

Tractor dealerships often can make hydraulic hose. (I just found this out and was furious I didn't know before.)

 

I just realized that I put the bottom bolt in backwards , do you all think i should be fine? it looks like there is enough clearance from the CV axle.

 

The bottom shock bolt? A lot of people end up doing that, because if not, you have to unbolt your lower ball joint to get the bolt to clear the Cv when trying to remove that bolt to get coil overs out

 

ya the bottom shock bolt, thats how it was when i removed the old shock which is why i didn't have to remove the lower ball joint lol

A said above by @FrenchToasty Mine is in backwards too. No issues to speak of. Although, now that I think about it I think my gas mileage has gotten worse.
Either the bolt or the lift and big tires. Hmmm

I got it backwards. Backwards bolt, new coilovers, tires, and wheels made my mileage worse.

Yup. I've never heard a girl say, "oh, cool Prius."

 

Hit or miss but a lot of the Napa's here make them too as well as a bunch of industrial supply houses.

 

Prius doesn't have a hand brake, so women think they are useless.

 

When changing out the winter snow tires I noticed a broken sway bar link. First time to break one in 234K miles. The truck seemed to have swayed excessively when taking corners a few days earlier. The parts arrived yesterday and I replaced both sides today. I had to use an angle grinder to cut the lower link nuts off. Not fun but it came off and all bolted up easily.

Changed air filter and engine oil/filter, too. Should be good to go for a while.

 

I did the same thing and luckily noticed before I got it all buttoned up. It seemed like it would interfere, so I fixed it. Not too hard to do actually

I've really been thinking about getting one of the Toyota "Hybrid" emblems and sticking it on my truck. To make it acceptable in case I drive out to California in the next couple weeks.

Filled up the tank all the way to full, 1st time in a long time, lol. I bought some Lucas fuel treatment, never used it before, but thought I would see if there is any difference with mpg's. I think I average 15 mpg, which for a couple truck, I suppose I should not complain.
