    Busy Weekend (Saturday)

Found a good deal for XD820 rims and Kanati Trial Hog AT tires on Facebook Marketplace. Picked them up and installed them. Then my Catalytic Converter Anti-Theft plate came in from Desert Eagle Off Road, so I installed that. Lastly I installed the Rago Center Dash Mount with (2) Ram Mount Phone Attachments. Then it was wash and wax time.

    Yup, running 1.25” Spidertrax spacers.

You don’t necessarily need UCA unless if you’re running bigger tires OR if you have wheels with a lower positive offset OR if you’re going past 3” of lift.

Our stock wheels are a high offset which will result in the tire rubbing the spindle if you increase tire size.

i usually take a lot of pictures but I didn’t this time.. I covered the leather with painters tape, traced out where it was going to go, then I made another line 1/8 inside the outer trace mark. I cut the leather in an “x” inside the inner line. Then I folded the leather back and taped it out of the way. Took a 1/4 drill bit then drilled the corners thru the plastic so I know where they are from the other side, then just used a dremmel/file to cut it out from the underneath. I used the oem 3 switch panel from a Sequoia, I cut the tabs off and just file/grind away until everything fits. Take all the tape off, push the panel thru with the leather, trim off excess leather on the underside, put it in a clamp and epoxy around to lock it in. Rear window switch will fit, I’m going to relocate mine there, I just need to wait for my order of wire to come in

*edit - when you are positioning where you are going to cut the hole, make sure you try to miss the large tab tower on the left side, i had to cut a bit off of mine.

I didn't solder. I just cut the wires then spliced in wires for extending and put heat shrink tubing over the splices. Thought about heat shrink connectors first but the splicing went faster ( just weave the two wire strands together, twist and lay flat so shrink tubing goes over it then apply heat. After all that, I used 5-6 zip ties to hold all the wires together and keep things neat at 6" lengths.

Added these black center console trim pieces from Amazon. Hardest part was removing the AJT vent surrounds to reinstall over these.Screenshot_20220404-235927_Amazon Shopping.jpg 20220404_183705.jpg 20220404_183657.jpg 20220404_183647.jpg 20220404_183709.jpg

@d_kinneyjr what display option is that you have on the radio? I have a 2017 Platinum and never seen it split in 3 screens with those features.

Yeah, I blew at least 2 fuses during this install. I have a 21' platinum that has Front Driver/Passenger auto switches and I had purchased the only kit available which at the time only had Front Driver Auto. The wiring is completely different even though the connections are the same. I missed the warning on the CTH website not to purchase, but I swear it wasn't up there when I ordered ~1 month ago. For what it's worth, everything did connect and the master switch panel lit up nice and pretty...but upon firing up truck, immediate SRS airbag fault, no A/C, no power locks, no push to start, amongst other things.

Anyways, I replaced the under dash fuse ECU-B NO.2 and got most functionality back. Still cannot open rear/back windows from master switch, so bit the bullet and crawled back to the dealer with my tail between my legs. The techs traced the issue to a large blown pink Type-B fuse (30amp?) which they had to order and should be replaced tomorrow.

Have not noticed any other issues with the truck besides those windows not going down, but have learned my lesson...for now.

Damn, that's crazy. Sorry to hear that, especially when it should light up to begin with. Hope you get it fixed.

I've come to learn, different model years and some even same year can act different. I've had it a few days, checked everything used all buttons I can and so far so good.

Mine just came in today. I also have the AJT vent surrounds and was waiting on the overlays to come in before before I installed the surrounds to the middle vents.
I just went out and did a test fit and it doesn’t look like the vent surrounds are going to fit if I install the overlays.
Did you have to do any trimming on yours to get the vent surrounds back on?

I have a similar set up and put the dash overlay first which did leave the chrome surround on the middle vents still exposed making it an easy fit the AJT overlays. Perhaps yours is not quite cut the same. If so I would say just use a Dremel with a sanding drum to trim some out until you see the chrome ring.

The quality is actually good. It matches the AJT black plastic perfectly. Only place I found it in black is on Amazon. If you do plan on getting the AJT vent surround pieces, make sure you wait to install them on the plastic trim cover first otherwise you have to remove them in order to fit these pieces.

I had a roll of 3m double sided tape. I made it just enough length to match the diameter of the AJT vent covers and then I cut it in half so I had 2 equal length strips, 1 for each side. I then folded each double sided piece of tape in half and stuffed it inside the groove/channel of each AJT vent piece. From there I just put each vent piece over the trim larger side trim pieces and lined it up. It sticks to it perfectly for me. I didnt take pics of this so hopefully I am making sense.

I put my carrier bearing drop kit in today. I also got to use the foam matt from RC to lay on while putting it in. A lot better than a tarp. 055B239F-0F74-44E7-88C0-0A55B2A19079.jpg 783BADD4-F018-40E2-80FB-FBC786904A88.jpg F0E941FA-0269-4BD2-A963-0E6A4A12A3A1.jpg I didn’t have any vibration before install. But thought I it would be a good idea since I have a 3.5” RC lift and pull a 29’ camper. I’m sure the universal joints will thank me.

@James07 this was an option in believe in the setting tab for the head unit. You could choose to have 3 window (as I have done), 2 windows or 1 window. In each window you can then choose what you want in it, such as the clock, the radio station and the MPG.

A little transformation Tuesday for everyone. Since purchasing the truck last summer I’ve added the following:

    -Coachbuilder TRD Pro Suspension kit
    -Method Mesh 18x9 wheels
    -Nitto Ridge Grappler 295/70R18
    -Go Rhino Sport Bar 2.0
    -Tyger side steps
-Window tint all the way around

Have a few other mods planned for the future but really happy with how it’s shaping up.
