Hello I just joined and took possession of my Tundra yesterday.

I am looking at installing a Westcott Design leveling kit with my local garage. Does anyone have experience with this kit?

I think this will allow 35 x 12.5 x R18. Does anyone on the forum have any experience with this?

Methods or Fuels? Assuming you have the Westcott on your truck? Very good looking truck.

With 12.5" width tires, and with a Wescott Collar Lift I heard that there may rubbing against the UCAs and suggested to add 7mm shims in order to add space. However, i don't know if that's good if it shortens the bolt threads. Can anyone confirm, and if it would be better to use 11.5" width tires instead?

I was worried about the same thing so I opted to go with falken wildpeaks in a 295/70/18. They come out to be 34.5x12. I figured that extra 1/2” in width would prevent any potential issues whatsoever and I was right!!! I’d highly recommend this setup.

I’m not home right now but can get a better shot in a few hours. These are the best pics I got right now to give you an idea… about 1.5” of poke.

Assuming you are still looking for an answer those tires will rub on the upper control arms if you retain the stock wheels.

You will either need to get narrower wheels (wouldn’t go past 12), run a shim/spacer on those front wheels or get a set of aftermarket wheels with a lower offset.

It's interesting the different experiences regarding 12.5" wide tires.

Driven Companion on YouTube shows his truck on true 35's without any rubbing issues. He's running a simple 2" leveling kit (same one I'm running) up front and has 35x12.5x20 Goodyear M/T tires without any rubbing issues on his UCAs. He's running the stock TRD OR 20" rims that came with his Limited trim. No wheel spacers.

I don't know how he's done it, but he claims it's totally fine with zero rubbing. I'm running 34's (295/70/18) on my truck and I had to remove the front mud flaps & tuck the front wheel well liner back a little to stop the minor rubbing. I guess that's because I'm running +18 offset vs the +60 on the OE rims.

Excuse my ignorance here with these few questions. I'll be taking possession of my new truck here in 3 weeks. It's the TRD Off Road. I am wanting to do the Westcott leveling kit.

    1. Is it easy enough to install or something that I should take to a shop?

    2. I am wanting to do bigger tires on it but I also don't want to do any additional "adjustments", etc. So what would be recommended with that small lift/leveling kit & the stock rims?

All depends on your comfort & skill level. I would be comfortable doing it, but I also have all of the needed tools (spring compressors, impact tools, etc). I haven't installed their kit, but I've installed plenty of other leveling & lift kits in the past. Including a 2" leveling kit on my 2022 Tundra. If you've installed other leveling or lift kits before, the hardest thing you'll run into with the Westcott kit is the disassembly & reassembly of the front coilover units. If you're comfortable doing that, then you'll be fine. Watch their YT video. They have a full walk-through of the installation and judge for yourself. Otherwise...just pay the ~$800 to have a local shop install it for you.

If you want do something easy with a lot of impact...I'll selfishly recommend my setup: 2" Leveling kit upfront and 295/70/18 tires. You can run that tire size on the OE wheels. You don't gain a lot (in my opinion) by going with the Westcott kit for the price difference. With a 2" leveling kit, you can run 34" or 35" tires with little to no issues. I spent $50 on a 2" leveling kit and installed it in about 2.5 hours in my garage vs $450 for the Westcott and probably 6+ hours of install time.

My westcott kit goes on tomorrow! 295 70 R18 falcons will be mounted on stock TRD wheels. Pictures to follow!

No, not at all you. I was replying about the reply. Welcome to the forum by the way. I have an SR5 TRD as well, but I went a different route. I used an old Gen 2” leveling kit with 18x9 +18 wheels and 275/70 Coopers. Let us know what you decide, plenty of folks are running 35’s.
