I keep getting a parking break, cruise control malfunction error code. Toyota has no idea what's wrong and has not been able to fix it. Anyone else having this issue?

I had several malfunctions and the dealer had the same problem figuring it out. Toyota corporate got involved and they hooked up all kinds of computers/recorders to my truck. I started a thread but at the time I was the only one with the problem. Supposedly I was the first one in the country. Good luck

Does it actually say "break" on your dash, or is something broken when parking?

No trophies, but the rest of us give you early adopters many thanks for helping Toyota to sort all this stuff!

This is what some 2nd gen owners don't understand. If it wasn't for the early owners in 2007 (and other refresh years), the 2nd gen wouldn't be as great as it is now (in terms of reliability). Btw, it's nice to see someone from my area. Maybe you'll spot my truck in the next few weeks.

haha. I checked my A/C the other day, even though it was only 75 outside, just to make sure it worked. I realized that I hadn't ever tested it since I took delivery of the truck in mid-December. Blew ice cold. Whew.

Funny, mine gets run year round. Usually, 62 is about as high as it goes, lol. Not sure why, but driving this weekend in the snow at about 25 degrees, 60 felt comfortable and 61 almost felt like the heat was on. Today, it was near 70 and AC on 60 still felt comfortable.

I'd be interested to know the exact temperatures others ACs are blowing. Anyone have a laser temp gun and wanna experiment?

IR/laser handheld temp guns are very inaccurate when trying to measure air flow temps. We always spot calibrate them in the absence of any air flow. Air flow distorts the measurement.

Turns out it was ABS Module. Once replaced it works fine.

I have the same issue, been going on for a couple weeks, I don't drive much as I work from home. Usually turn it off and back on resets it for a short term. Also seems to be heat related, living up know we recently have warmer weather and it is acting up more often. Your last statement says ABS module, good to know. Thank you.

I have this pop up occasionally but it goes away when I engage and disengage the electronic brake

That tends to happen when you don't pause long enough between shifting into Park and shutting the truck off. If you shift into park and then immediately turn off the truck, it doesn't give the Emergency Parking Brake (EPB) time to engage before the truck shuts off.

Just give it an extra second (literally...that's about all it takes) between putting the truck in park and shutting the engine off.

    Must be a Tundra issue.
My wife's newer Toyota with epb never displays a warning message, under any circumstances.
I really like Toyotas, but these little issues are suspect.....
