Has anyone got a truck from south east Toyota? My truck was allocated to my dealer since it was built in early November with delivery around the end of December. I put my deposit down December 10th was told 15 to 20 days. I still have not received the truck dealer says it’s been sitting at port since January 1st. Nobody knows why. No package add one just the basic sr crew max 4x4.

I got my sr crewmax 4x4 on Valentine’s Day. So far I love this truck! I will be adding some different wheels and tires. Also putting on predator steps.

I've been looking all over for that exact truck but couldn't find one listed anywhere.

Test drove a SR crewmax today. Both the lady and I thought it felt faster than her 21 double cab. I really like it a lot. Can't image it with the SR5 higher boost. Unfortunately the dealer in Daytona, FL wanted a 6k mark up, so I didn't buy it. Sorry for the one picture. I should have taken more but they got pretty hostile when we disagreed on the price.

Not sure if this is common knowledge, but something I found awesome was the lack of fake V8 sounds in the cabin. I guess that's a premium speaker lol. I could clearly hear the turbos and I really enjoyed that.

I don't care how bad the market is right now. One should never pay over msrp.

    You made the right call.

PXL_20220304_181640114.jpg PXL_20220304_181554110.MP.jpg So, I finally had a chance to inspect an SR in real life. I was very impressed by the trim level, particularly the interior, which is more of a monochromic black, without the silver accents if the higher levels. The truck I looked at was a DC, which solidified my decision to hold out for a crewmax. The truck I looked at was sold, but I could have reserved an Identical truck due in at the end of the month. If I were presented with an SR and an SR5 that ticked the boxes, it's be a tough call.

The one I saw was a crewmax, but I really wanted to see a double cab. Is the cab that small now? The 21 DC rear seats are plenty big for my folks. I feel I would be happier with the smaller cab and bigger bed. I can't stand a small bed in a truck. Though I cannot deny that the larger cab was super nice. Did not feel like a base model at all to me.

The front cab is the same as the CM. The rear is roughly the same as my Tacoma DC, but 6" wider

I like SR interiors better due to no silver trims.

I have a soft spot for "base" trim trucks. A better term would be "essentials" trim.

A DC SR with some TRD wheels would be sublime.

I am really most curious about the detuned motor and whether it is even noticeable at all?
I actually think the exterior looks as good as any other I have seen of this model with no shiny at all!

I thought it felt plenty fast and peak torque felt like it accelerated harder than the 5.7 If all it needs is a tune the SR will be king haha.

And everybody that bought the 4.6 instead of the 5.7 regretted it

toyo will probably phase out the sr like they did the 4.6 in a couple years anyway.

I have the 4.6 no regrets here,,

I absolutely love the all black interior. I've been on the fence about going up to an SR5, but I hate that silver trim. That auto trend needs to die.

Can someone with a base SR5 (non premium, non sport/off road packages) confirm if it has a power height adjustable seat. In the brochure, the SR5 says it has a standard 8 way power seat, but the Toyota site compare (SR5 model) says it has a Manual 4 way seat like the SR. On the site model compare it says you need a premium package to get a 8 way power with the Softex.

If someone with an actual base SR5 can confirm whether it has power or not I would appreciate it. I think no height adjustments in an SR would be the death of me. Same with the F150, the seat it way too high in an F150 XL and you need to go all the way to to an XLT 2 package to get a moveable seat which sucks.

You have to get one of the premium packages to get power seats.

Could an owner of an SR please remove driver seat and see if there is a prewired power plug under carpet or seat harness. Also if the 4x4 is prewired in dummy switches under center console on 2 wheel drive unit. Thank you.

If anyone is interested, local dealer here (Darcars, Frederick MD) has two white CM/SB SR trim Tundras on the lot, parked out front. Been sitting there for a week or 2 already. I haven't asked them about pricing/upcharges or whether there are mandatory accessories. I am not currently in the market, nor would I get an SR trim if I were.

Lately the harnesses in new Toyotas don't include spare circuits for missing accessories. It's true they used to, but not anymore.

I've heard a few people say that about this Tundra. I tried to add OEM fogs to my wife's new Toyota and there was no fog wiring pre-installed like I expected.

I really like the SR DC and it's lower MSRP. While I prefer the factory installed brake controller and larger fuel tank, both available on the SR5, I could choose to live without either. However, the lack of a height adjustable driver's seat is a deal break for my wife. Sucks

I broke down the catalog and listed everything I could come up with that the SR5 adds from the SR. I tried to apply a value to each item based on other vehicles where they are stand alone options. Some are, some are not. For example the price difference to go from a 2.7 to 3.5 on an F150 is $1400. I find it interesting that the F150 4x4 SuperCrew with 2.7 can tow 7700, an SR can tow 8300, a 3.5 F150 can tow 11,300, the SR5 can tow 11,160. I guess they benchmarked after all.

SR5 adds: $4375 to an SR w/Tow Package

    $1,400 - More power w/11,160 towing capacity
    $1,500 - 265x70x18 tires on alloy wheels
$300 - Internal Trailer Brake Controller
??? - Tow Haul Mode (surprised this is not offered on SR)
??? - Active aero spoiler and air dam
    ??? - Driver select modes
??? - Fender Flares (did not see fender flares on SR, can probably add them if wanted from parts list)

By my math the engine/towing upgrade, wheels/tires, Trailer brake controller would set you back $3200 if they were stand alone options like other trucks. That means the other options (Tow Haul, Driver Select modes, Active spoiler/air dam, fender flares) would need to be worth $1275.

Just one way to look at it compared to other truck options. Its not a bad value proposition if you don't need any of those things. The fact that you have to add yet another $2k package to get power seats on an SR5 really pisses me off though. I am going to have to find an SR and sit in it to see if it will work. An F150 without a height adjustable seat does not so my choices get a lot more expensive for that vehicle too.

The stuff that Toyota cheaps out on is kind of baffling sometimes. My 2020 Tacoma SR5 came standard with power seats (1st year) but didn't come with a built-in garage door opener, which must cost $2-3 in parts. Like I said, baffling.

Likely to force you to take the 'trim walk'. I imagine that marketing has determined that every line item, regardless of value, has some influence on the buyers decision.

Forced me to clip on the visor one of the remotes that came with the opener. Not the cutest thing in the world, but a lot cheaper than "upgrading" to a TRD. ;)

My 2007 DC sr5 4x4 was wired like a limited for seat warmers and digital HVAC controls. There was even a prewire for sub. Look at this video and you will see a prewire for 4x4 on a 4x2. https://www.youtube.com/embed/YIQKJ8wqjmw?start=348

I know this question has been asked a lot about the SR5's and up, but what is the mpg owners are getting out of the SR? Just curious what real world highway mpg is like. If it's truely over 20 and similar to a Tacoma I'd be very interested.
