So what does a “real” lift kit contain?

Well technically a spacer kit lifts your truck but at a cost. Most will agree if you want improved ride and capability you would want a full suspension upgrade. Also depending on the amount you lift you may need to upgrade other components.

I'm looking to order the Westcott lift for my Limited trim (non-TRD) Tundra. Can anyone confirm my suspicion that the non-TRD Limited DOES NOT have the red shocks but rather than standard black shocks? Want to make sure I order the correct lift. Thanks!

Most who run those lifts are for mild occasional 4-wheeling and to fit larger tires. I have run them for 20 yrs and my 4 wheeling has always been when I needed it to complete a necessary destination. Driving on the deer lease or property are the biggest reason and then hitting the mountains in the snow a few times a year.

So most folks are fine with a spacer lift.

Anyone find a good spot for a secondary battery? The engine bay looked packed. Maybe behind the back seat?

let me know what you think about the dash cam. Never considered one, but this past weekend I did 1000 miles in a wind/snow storm and almost got taken out twice on highway by kids trying to pass me in Honda Accords, very nerve racking!

Good to see but curious if it comes with any other wiring or connectors to hardwire and make connections in headliner or run down to fuse block. I just got my Plat and want to add that along with a Uniden R4. Looking to hide all the wiring.
Also, doubt it, but does the Toyo cam integrate in any way with the trucks audio visual setup? Thanks.

many thanks! I may give that one a shot. I know a number of well regarded cams (I had front an back Streetguard on Tacoma, nice unit) but like this appears fairly simple and straightforward install.

Had to look at the install instructions that someone posted to actually see the dash cam that picture kind of focuses on your radar detector

Very interested in getting one also.

I saw another (video) install that was posted on here where the poster said he didn’t get the live view to work (only the recordings).

I am assuming that an anomaly and not the norm correct?

    - Can someone confirm that the live viewer works also?

Due to my impatience(mostly because my wife is now pregnant and she can already barely get in), I decided to order these -
    https://www.autoanything.com/nerf-bars/go-rhino-rb20-slim-running-boards?VehicleId=9638894

P.S. they had a Presidents’ Day 21% discount code that worked and still may be active.

Hope to have em next week and will post pics once I install.

Thanks for the heads up on the 21% discount, i went ahead and pulled the trigger as well. about $100 off is a steal. I'll run these until AMP Research has the PowerStep available for the 22.
Hope it fits! Will post pictures once installed.

I believe there are 4 cats, does the plate cover all of them?
Does it need to be removed to do oil changes?

You’re gonna want to contact them and get that changed. I clarified with them prior to placing my order. Crew cab = double cab, extended crew cab = crew max.

so the story just keeps getting stranger...
Spoke with customer service on the phone and the gentleman couldn't confirm so I then spoke with Jestine B from customer support, and she explained that neither part would not fit the vehicle and that they would only fit prior 2021 2nd gen style models... So I ended up cancelling just in case. Please let me know if the ones you or @DoMoToyota ordered fit. Maybe i just dealt with individuals who didnt know what they were doing.. but I'd hate to receive running boards that don't fit then have to worry about returning them. Please keep me posted on the fit.

Looks like I’ve got an issue…When I ordered on Sunday, the drop down box had a Double Cab or Crewmax option. I selected Crewmax, of course the selector also said these steps would fit 2022.

Another member actually spoke with their customer service to confirm fit for 2022.

Pretty sure it covers all cats, didn’t count them haha. And no, oil changes are more anterior (under where the TRD skid plate would be). They have good install videos on YouTube that may give you a good look

Thanks, ended up picking up the oem tube style on Ebay. They look a little more family friendly. I had predator style steps on my last vehicle, so wanted something different. More than what i wanted to pay for a temporary solution, but wife was growing impatient. There is 1 left if anyone is interested.

I read that Toyota will release a software update around this month to remove the key fob off issue along with other software fixes, I think it mat be delayed some but supposedly will resolve lots of bugs in the programming. I wish they would remove the subscription screen all together unless you actually purchase it, useless unless you want that.

Just went out to my truck to try getting the .json file but there's not even an option to output to my USB.

Is there not an option to update from the truck using wifi or something versus plugging in a USB? I thought I saw a video on here a few days ago explaining how to update. I checked for it and there is no update available yet.

Dealer installed the TRD Running Boards yesterday. I am generally happy with everything but the price ( $825 plus bolts and tax)
-these boards are definitely Low Profile, they do not seem to reduce ground clearance much, if any.
-they mount up high and in close to the truck, but do make it much easier to get in and out of the cab. I don't plan to add a lift kit.
-I liked these a lot better than the Go Rhinos which is the only aftermarket boards I could find, but again the price difference!!
-I did not want to wait for more aftermarket choices, we are both about 5'5" and needed boards now. Plus we are going camping next week.
Bad enough we have to wait for Toyota or Amp Research to have a bed step available.

Luckily the dealer discounted some in order to make this a little more affordable.RB 1.jpg RB 2.jpg

I did my oval oem ones the other day and even those feel like its close to the truck. but I was also half hoping sparks personnel screwed up and sent me those instead also
