Hey everyone I just had my ujoints replaced and bilstein 5100s put on the rear. Now when I accelerate from a dead stop to 35 40 mph the truck vibrates as if I'm driving on rumble strips on the shoulder of the highway. When I go faster the vibration is there but maybe alittle less. This is definitely something that wasn't there before. I have seen guys put a carrier bearing drop kit on there truck after raising after an inch I do believe. By the way I have an added leaf spring so I am wondering if I need to rebalance driveshaft or carrier bearing drop kit? I would greatly appreciate some help with this. By the way reason front struts weren't changed is because of manufacturer defect with one of the struts so they had to put the Monroe back on after trying one side. Thank you for the help.

    Too many, but not enough....
Did you do a Carrier bearing drop kit? If not that's 20 bucks and most likely the problem.

Bilsteins are unlikely your issue. Drop the carrier if it’s been raised a few inches. If that doesn’t help, suspect a bad u-joint/faulty installation.

Is your carrier bearing upside down?

I raised my 2014 2.5" in the front and 1" in rear a few years ago.
    No carrier bearing, no problems.

    As @THinTX stated, I think it's a faulty u-joint install.

Why did you replace the u-joints in the first place?

i’m pretty sure 5100’s in the rear won’t affect suspension height folks..

Carrier bearing drop should fix it. How much lift did the AAl give you? Coach builder sells the drop kit and has different size depending on how much you lifted it. That’s what I went off of and ordered and works great for me.

I replaced them due to the slack when letting off the gas and getting back on it there was alot of slack/play. So all 3 got replaced. Plus I have an added leaf spring in back due to the weight I carry. Vibration never started until the bilstein were put on. So with added leafspring and bilstein 5100 it has added maybe 2 to 3 inches in back. I have the rough country preloaded struts coming this week to level out the front.

Rear shocks are fairly easy to swap.
Can you put the shocks you had back on and see if the vibration is still there?

To be honest I'm like 95 percent sure it's that carrier bearing drop kit is what I need be a use I put 200lbs in the back vibration went away.

Drop the carrier is cheap and easy takes like 10 min tops. Anything Over 1” or lift id do w carrier drop if you are 2-3 in the back higher it defiantly needs it

If all you did was the u-joints, that’s is your problem. You said problem wasn’t there before. So it was some of the new parts installed. Also if they didn’t index the drive shaft then that could also be the problem.

No THE THREAD SAYS I PUT BILSTEIN STRUTS....Let me explain for you again....I put bilstein 5100 struts on back. (Note I already have an added spring to the leaf springs) I have a vibration from 0 to whatever 0-40 is more noticeable as if I'm driving on the side of highway over the rumble strips. Anyways I got it figured out thanks for your input...Pursuit2550

I guess I misread your first sentence then "Hey everyone I just had my ujoints replaced and bilstein 5100s put on the rear". Glad you got it figured out.

This. I doubt the Bilsteins did it, but if the carrier bearing was installed upside down you'd have shudder. Please take a pic of it and post it. Correctly installed, there should be one single hole right in the center of it, like it was stamped with a hole punch.
