I made the leap at $100 and couldn’t be happier. For that price I would have likely tried more then once…glad I didn’t have to. The right mileage was the tipping point to jump on it for me.

So it worked out for you? Weren't you the one that bought the sequoia cluster?

Can you post all the details? Part # for the new cluster? Old cluster? FFV/non? Any VIN info on the new cluster or your truck? Years? There has to be some sort of cross-reference to be made that could help people.

Unfortunately I didn’t get the part number off the new one. I will be taking it apart one more time to paint the cluster bezel. I will take notes then.

This is the details I do have from the donor

    Are you FFV or non?

Here's what I pulled off the listing VIN:

Looks like your engine types align. I'll do a little more digging in the morning... Still waiting on my offer response on eBay. That'll probably tell us a lot if/when I get an Optitron and compatibility between FFV/non vehicles...

Curiously, is your fuel gauge accurate?

It's a good sign for me that a cluster from an 11 fits a 13.

Fuel gauge seems accurate so far…the truck and myself are still learning the new computer in the optitron

New head unit along with rear backup camera. The part that took the longest was running the camera wire into the cab, other than that it went pretty quick.

It was a direct plug and play for me. You will need the drive monitor switch to unlock the full potential of the optitron.

    FFV = flex fuel vehicle

I don’t believe mine is FFV but how do you check? I have the switches already so that’s a good sign. Thanks

It should say E85 ok on the gas cap. Another way would be a VIN lookup online.

Have you noticed your engine's designation on a decal under the hood? 3UR-FE (non-FFV), or 3UR-FBE (FFV). Your gas cap should also indicate that it's E-85 Ethanol compatible.

I also have those buttons, but they control the little display on the center of the dash...

When you plug in an Optitron cluster, they then change to control the display in the center of the cluster. You don't have to modify anything.

That's interesting, so the center display just goes back to being a clock only? My buttons are also a tad different. They look like this:

Clock and ambient temperature. I think that there are two different button configurations. For example, mine doesn't have Sonar because my truck doesn't have sonar. Either should be compatible with the cluster.

For those that upgraded to the Optitron gauges. How did you get your mileage reprogrammed? Or waited until your truck matches the mileage of the new cluster? haha

I sent mine to a service that I found on CraigsList. About $100.

I grabbed that one off ebay and will have wait another 20k miles before I install it haha. I'm at 98k and not really wanting to put it over 100k mileage quite yet.

I just got a notification that a cluster I had looked at was no longer available

I saw a diy on adjusting milage, looks pretty involved needing hardware and software. Ill see if I can find it.
