Whew! Thanks for the update, Lance. We coulda had a betting pool, add to he fun: over/under on time to mount; number of hard turned made between the shop and Mike’s house (you know, ‘cause the sound of rubbing will make it easy to keep track); number of stops to check and adjust fitment with a BFH on the way home…

We’re uhhh we’re running into some technical difficulties!

    Thanks Lance!

Yes, first shop got the wheels in and then was all “oh…yeah these bead grip wheels are a problem. Our tire machine might damage the tires, you need a “euro style” machine.”
So hauled them over to discount, they did the dismount, then ran them back over to the other shop. Truck is finally in a bay getting worked on.
Also had an appointment right in the middle of the day which totally helped haha.

Hahaha! My BFH, I keep that thang on me :smash:

Technically there’s still time to get your fitment bets in

Ahh… so naive. The correct question is where aren’t they rubbing

I’ll need to investigate. Been a busy day and now hours behind schedule helping a friend with his truck, so headed there. Then maybe by tomorrow afternoon I can get my head under there.

Alright, current issue is the cab mount. Tire is rubbing all the way to the mount behind the CMC plate.
    1B76EE63-BBE0-433E-86C2-D2EC50B89A15.jpg

Next steps: schedule an alignment and see how much caster I can get for now. Going to need some new UCAs with added caster.

Cut a lot out up front, but going to need to drive more to see where else I’ll rub up front.
Also need to hit some dips and see how much of the wheel well rubs under compression.

Just my 2 cents but I’m not impressed with total chaos and shops for getting good numbers

    Good to know.

From my research I’ll likely go with the MCM UCAs. Also going to keep my eyes open for a deal on the Icon billet arms, but that’s less likely.

I’ve heard icon upppers have issues @831Tun would know. I have only heard mcm bend and that’s their issue but I wanted in the 4 caster but can’t find a shop to do it

There’s a shop down by me, Tru-Line on Bradley, has a guy named Chris Davison, that can get you that caster, once you sort out the UCA’s. Well. As long as your bushings are good. :anonymous: And hit up Bruce for a quick overview of what he and all his buddies with 37’s are using. Save you money, knowing who’s had what trouble, before you take another step down the rabbit hole.

I’ve heard Icon tubular and Camburg tubular having issues. Surprised to hear MCM bending. That’s an odd one!

Lol I just texted him. Good thinking!

I personally am a fan of bigger positive caster numbers for greater self-centering and jacking...con is a bit of a heavier steering feel but meh...

    upload_2022-2-13_19-38-23.jpg

Camburg Billets, max out caster using the OE eccentrics, OE camber and Toe Values (or decide if you want cross caster/camber to deal with road crown)

I’m familiar with the heavy feel of higher caster. I’m good with that feeling

    Damn! That’s surprising.

not sure I'd say they're recommended or not. But you're gonna have to get a wee bit aggressive on the BMC, also be mindful of that up travel as you're close to fender crunching when fully bumped ;)

    Lol I know.

When I did my chop I went as aggressive as I could go.
I’ve been advised by a few people to run glass because I’ll crunch my fenders. On my Tacoma when I went up too big in tire I cut my fenders to accommodate. Not opposed to that route for this truck, but we’ll see if that is the choice or fiberglass. On the Tacoma I was able to DIY a “snorkel” so I wouldn’t suck dust up from the fender well since I lost the fender liner with the cut fenders. Same trick isn’t an option with this air box design though.

lol, people in the +0 and even negative range, are getting into the bushing flange into the bolt head too...

I'm pretty close and barely kissed my initial BMC (also was only planning for 35's) and will likely re do mine to a few more mils of clearance...

I'm running 37x13.50 +25, which I've "documented" in my Journey to Dirty Sevens...

    I’ll check it out!

I don’t have the ability to set up my welder at my current place, but when I can get to my buddies welder I might do that. Cut away some more material and even get into that flange.
