Yes, minor drilling of the plastic welds. Just go slow and easy.

    All stock-ish. Powdercoated blue suspension.
Mines is expected to be delivered Monday. 4 years just taking that sun blinding, but I refused to go with the other kit that has rivet looking bolts and making my inside have some alien aircraft accents design.

Ok let me give some advice on this install. As for the shift gate piece, all I did was get an interior trim plastic tool and slide it between the chrome piece and the shifter panel and twist just a little and all the black welds just popped off nice and clean. I didn’t glue new piece in place, when you reinstall it back in truck it stays in with pressure when you clip in the shifter panel back into truck.

As for the outer trim piece around shifter, I turned the whole panel over and used a 1/4” drill bit. I first took a razor to all the plastic welds to take off the rounded parts and flattened them all out. Then I placed a piece a tape about 1/2” up the bit and drilled very and I mean very slowly. Do not press down. Let the bit do all the work with the weight of the drill. Hold back the drill as much as possible. Once your through all 6 welds, then get a large flat head screw driver and pry the piece out start at each weld. Make sure to bend the tabs off the parts that lock in. Once you break the three welds on one side you can basically grab the panel and slowly break free the other side. Do this slowly.

I hope this helps a few folks.

The only thing I have ever found wrong with meso stuff. And no it’s not missing one I already took that one out.

Can you take a picture of where you inserted the pry tool on the shifter gate replacement?

Sure, I slid the thin section of the tool under where the arrow is on the part in the picture. I used this tool in 2nd pic and circled it.

So do I need to remove anything else before prying? I can’t figure out where to pry up the stock stuff.03C187F0-10C6-4E56-A3E7-52954799B45B.jpg

you have the remove that whole black piece with the letters. Be easy with it, it just has a few tabs on each side and comes off real easy. You have to pry from the bottom side.

That’s the step I was missing and was trying to figure out how you popped the chrome piece off. Thank you for all of the help and advice. All finished up. D670FDDE-9AA0-4D6E-AA83-44923EBB22AE.jpg

It seems funny that the "other guy’s" products were so well received by the vast majority but now some of you are calling them junk? The man puts out so many great products that a lot of us are very happy with. Many of you have stated you love some of his pieces, but the trim is trash. Grow up and just say you found something that suites your taste without bashing a very reputable businessman. Hurt feelings are for kickball, this is adult stuff where your sometimes stupid comments make you sound like trash.

I wonder if you could’ve promoted this product without shitting on the other one….

Maybe you don’t like the AJT offering, but he has provided great service, and actually designed his stuff from scratch. I’ve no doubt that these guys used his as a model to make theirs.

Your jackassery turns me off of the product, regardless of quality. Work on your social skills maybe.

probably won’t though, I’m he didn’t for Tacoma except trim rings but no knobs. If you want knobs you’ll probably want ajt
