    Hi all,

I brought my Tundra over to Collin County Off-Road in McKinney, TX for some tie-rod work and they immediately went to check out the steering rack. They said that it needed steering rack bushings. The fact that they immediately checked that and found a problem leaves me a bit baffled. Is there a known issue with this? They said it's very common on Tundra's and Tacoma's, I haven't heard this, however I'm new to Tundras. I don't notice any play in the steering, seems tight, however they said that they "can see the steering rack moving back and forth and it should be solid".

Has anyone heard of this issue? Also, if so, seems there would be a bushing upgrade for these, maybe poly? Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the info, I just placed an order with Coachbuilder for bearing drop kit, outer tie rods and bump stops. Wish I would've known about these a day sooner. :) Spoke to the owner of Coachbuilder btw, think his name was David? Very nice gentleman, didn't rush me, was interested in my build and helping me out. Took his time to explain things. Very rare to get that kind of customer service today. I really appreciated it and highly recommend giving them a shout if you have anything suspension related.
