Not sure if I mentioned it here but they really boned me hard on holiday gifts for the kids. I ordered some gaming t-shirts for the kids from GameStop on Black Friday. That turned into a damn debacle. They shipped from south of me, went to our normal warehouse just south of ATL, then want past ATL up north to Braselton GA, then left to head back south to us, and disappeared. For days. I called FedEx, "We can't do anything unless you're the sender". Contacted GameStop to ask them to put a trace on it or cancel shipment. Nothing happened. Called Gamestop and emailed Gamestop same day. It took way longer than I expected but the package randomly showed up again in tracking before EOW.

Literally. I'll never ship FedEx again if I can help it. EVERYONE is complaining about shit like this right now. I don't know what's going on with them this last 6 months, but they're seriously, seriously one of the worst carriers at the moment.

Funny you mention it, O2 sensor is also the only CEL I've ever had on my truck.

I've been chewing on this thought lately, and I want to share it with you all.

When I was at my last job, everything was a challenge to get done in my personal life. Doctor appointments, alignments, days off, working on projects, etc. The constraints of my hours, and days worked kept me on my toes.

Now that I'm with my new employer, doing things in my personal life is no challenge at all. Having days off has almost drained my personal motivation on them. It's like it's not fun anymore... if that makes a lick of sense.

Maybe I'm used to getting my dick knocked in the dirt, and being told "No, you can't take that day off. Reschedule." Don't know. Just kinda something I've been feeling.

Make no mistake, I love my new job. I have a higher hourly rate, and work less hours for comparable pay as I was when pulling insane hours at the last place. I get to watch YouTube videos on the clock. Minimal cameras inside the building. PMs are on a schedule, and are not to be completed until they are due instead of getting swamped with 900 pms due at the end of the month. Every month. Forever.

I get to edit and prune build threads on the company computer. Something I need to do more of...

I dreaded going into work at my last place because I felt like each day could be my last. Every day when I left work I would joke with the fellas saying "been nice working with yall in case they fire me." We all felt like that. Insidious.

I feel like that no more at the new place. I do miss how fast paced it was, but... I worked there almost 5 years and it felt like 6 months. Relativity.

Edit: maybe I'm still getting used to the "days off" concept. I'm not sure.

    Weird thinkings. Thanks for readings.

He'll, I'm the opposite now. I'm heading to work now for the 7th day in a 13 day week. 10 hours a day. 1 day off then another 13. I'm about sick of this shit.

My buddy is stopping by so we can look at the rear brakes on his Infinity G35. Good call since I'm clearly the Brake Guru :D

Anyways, it sounds like he has a caliper sticking. Is there a way to fix without replacing so he can at least get home? He's 100 miles from his house.

Put a c-clamp on the piston and push it back in. Cut the squealer off on the brake pad. Not going to fix the sticking but it'll get them home.

As soon as he hits the brakes, won't the piston expand again?

If it's sticking bad enough to notice I'd slap a new one on there if it's easily available. 100 miles that puppy will be hot enough to cook the bearing if it's dragging bad.

Yes. You could try greasing the slide pins but that's not going to help it if the piston is sticking.

I have a sticking caliper I'm waiting on warranty parts. Unfortunately had to drive 150 miles with it this weekend.

I dont know about g35’s, but find a manual. Nissan (maybe 240sx) had a funky screw in caliper piston back in the day.

but yea, pull it apart, clean the piston and bore, and hope for the best.

Try cycling the piston a few times to see if it sticks again. If you see rust and crap on the outside of the piston where it enters the caliper, clean that up.

His outer pad is gone. His inner pad has a lot of life left. I suspect these are the original pads on this 2003 with 150k.

Wow, he must not be big on maintenance then?
So, the piston side pad has plenty of life left? Odd

We can't get the piston to collapse at all so we're off to buy new pads and caliper.
