No you have to have that ugly tailgate. That would be an expensive option.

Don't forget that "special" goofy looking plastic camo trim.

4x2 hybrid is a little closer to expected numbers.

    Yeah by 1 mpg.
    22 combined 2x4 vs. 21 combined in a 4x4 config.

Sequoia will be worse, which explains why they won't do a v6 only option. Their V6 turbo decision doesn't seem to make a difference in MPGs. Dissapointing is an understatement. It was the sole argument for a non V8 (and tow hooks) 3rd gen.

I door sticker on the pro says 35psi max, so looks like it comes with p rated tires. I would at least want LT tires if any sort of off roading. Crazy how after spending nearly 70k on a supposedly off road truck, you have to spend even more money for desent tires.

Thanks for the information. Curious where you saw this as I have been going on the Toyota site to look for updates on the Pro. Any idea when we can "build" a 4x4 hybrid Limited or Pro? (Although, I think with the Pro all that can be added are the tow mirrors.) Thanks!

I believe someone said it before but the iforceMax(hybrid) vs iforce (nonhybrid) advantage mpg is only city driving

Who knows. Maybe yall can swap out the rear with the all new Tacoma when it comes out.

Sequoia front end swap. Taco rear end swap. Purge the ugly out of the truck.

I wouldn't call the Pro a marketing scam. They do a lot of R&D to get the suspension tuned for highspeed offroad as well as everyday. Yeah, they add fluff but the big deal has always been highspeed offroad going back to the Baja package for the Tacoma.

Having said that, I wouldn't pay premium for the Pro package, would pay for the suspension package installed on an SR5 though! Obviously better than the thin Bilsteins the OR package has.

You get on long, rough, rutted, washboard roads you don't want to creep along at 10MPH loaded up with thin body shocks. You want beefy 2.5" shocks with a reservoir so you can make time at 30MPH and not overheat the shocks.

Another thing Toyota has done in the past with the PRO is better articulation and they provide different bumpstops and brakeline extenders to accommodate that.

Serious question, if you hate the new Tundra this much then why are you here? Don't you have hobbies, work, anything else enjoyable in your life to be doing instead?

Your personal opinions on the tailgate are noted. Thanks for your valuable contributions, all you automotive geniuses (and third-graders who feel better about themselves if they say something bad about others.)

I dislike a lot of the styling aspects of the tundra honestly. Too many different colored chrome, too many different panels are painted or have vinyl, certain trims and packages add chrome.

My platinum will have the black painted piece on top of the tail gate. Idk why. If they were going for posh and sporty then why the fuck did they leave the grille surround chrome and not body colored.

TRD Or shouldn’t have chrome. TRD sport is the only trim that nailed it.

I'm leaving the fender flares and tail gate. I'm going to paint match a new mustache (not painting over chrome) and get the TRD grille or the TRD pro grille.

@War Machine posted pics of an all new Platinum Sequoia at the Houston auto show. It had no chrome. All gloss black or body color. Absolutely Beautiful..

No clue why they styled the truck so much worse than the SUV.

That is incorrect. It has the same dark chrome that the Platinum Tundra has.
