meh the only problem with a locking cap is that if they want the gas, they will punch a hole in the tank instead. cheaper to let them steal the gas the easy way than to ruin a gas tank.

and if they drain it and let the rest dribble away, now you have a gas pump that has no way to cool itself and possibly overheat and die on top of the hole or worse set the fumes on fire in the tank from overheating.

probably not a likely situation but possible.

Reached out to WeatherTech. Floor mats are in production and should be available for purchase in 4-6 weeks.

I'm From Louisiana, we fish Toledo bend lake, lots of guys have had this happen over the years, they hit the boat launch when no one is around and drill holes in the tanks, If you lucky you get a nice one that drills it on the side to leave a little gas to get home.

Do you have the number for the 5.5 bed mat? I'm having trouble finding it and it seems like a must have given how slick the composite bed is.

Nmv, I found it and am an idiot

So far these are the must have accessories for this new gen Tundra:

Bed Step: Without it Toyota has made it impossible to get into the bed without pain. I'm 24 and in relatively good shape -- in the gym for an hour+ most days. It was still a pain in the ass to hop in the bed with no bumper to put your foot on.

Bed Mat/Liner: The new composite bed is slick. Extremely slick. I'm in the process of moving apartments right now and I haven't hauled any of my furniture yet because I'm nervous of it sliding around when I transport it.

Lower body strength isn't the issue -- I can squat 3 plates fine. More so a flexibility issue, which I admittedly lack in.

Got the OEM bed cover installed this past weekend. Went on like a breeze, but I'm glad I had my wife at home to help me lift the cover onto the rails. It's heavy. I probably could've managed it myself, but I would've been paying for it the next day.

SR5 TRD OR Double Cab w/ 6.5 Bed. Part # is PT954-34221-02 and it worked perfectly.

Waiting on the All-Weather floor mats & OEM black tailgate insert to come in today. Predator steps should be in this week. I plan on putting on the TRD skid plate soon too before I slap the RC leveling kit on. Waiting on the leveling kit until independent shops get access to the alignment specs from Toyota. The local shops around here don't have them yet.

Nice truck and cover. Curious if much or any space is taken up in the front when it’s folded up completely? I ask as have a mechanical ramp for one person to use loading and unloading a motorcycle. The front wheel goes about 2 inches from front of bed but as it’s obviously round it will not be close to the front after you get past half point of the wheel. Thinking this would work well folded back when bike is in the bed.

Wonder if that is the same for us Canadian folks that have and looking to have a 22'?? Non of the dealerships in Canada have any clue whats coming in as 'Standard' on a package and not. Super frustrating.

I've had to do a couple of big loads in the bed since installing it. Once it's folded up against the cab, it's very compact. It might only take up 10" or so once it's folded up against the cab.

I just had some side steps put on at the dealer. Got it with the truck purchase. I sent them the order number from here and they said it was incorrect. Went back and forth and thought I had that straightened out. Picked up now and wondering if they put the Dual Cab steps on my Crewmax. It doesn't go back as far as those I see here. If someone who has these installed can take a look and let me know, or better yet, also post a straight side shot of theirs on a crewmax so I can take it to them for comparison, I would appreciate it. They 100% put on the Double Cab step rails on your Crew Max. The Crew Max rails go the entire length of the cab to the point where it meets your bed box. See the pic below.

They probably ordered the wrong part number. Here are the correct labels:
    • D-Cab = CrewMax
    • C-Cab = Double Cab
They probably ordered you the C-Cab steps thinking those meant "Crew Max." Also...see post #217 of this same thread to see the same steps on a Crew Max. I'm sorry, but your steps are def wrong. Have your dealer fix it.

Thanks. So I talked to the dealer. He said my salesman gave the parts guy the number I sent him (and the explanation) but he ordered the other one anyway. Oh well.
edited to add: The correct ones will be in Monday.

I cannot believe the dealer did that. Any halfway competent installer would know that is incorrect. Damn shame.

oh man, people think I'm crazy doing maintenance work on my new Toyota on my own and not using the free 2 year maintenance plan

I just don't trust dealerships work and they prove me right.
