    I am in and out of the bed constantly loading and unloading stuff.
    Its bad enough they made the bed out of plastic then forced you to have to spray it.
    They also made it smaller not as wide and deep, less utility. Its a pickup truck.
    You should take it down a regular city road and try to do a three point turn before you make any decision.
    Everybody should.
    I have time due to the current lack of supply. I am hoping Toyota addresses the bed access with the next version.
    My daughter just bought a car and was told she needs to wait 6 months for it.
    I told her any dealer that tells you even 4 months out doesn't know when it is coming in.
    Be prepared for longer.

    How did you like the ride of the new Tundra. I drove a new sport and off road and was not empressed by the ride. Found it to be choppy you felt all the small bumps. I prefer the ride if my 2021 off-road by far.

    i agree, beyond 4 months they are guessing! As for turning, I find the Honda isn’t as small of a turning radius as one would think. Yes, tundras is bigger, but much bigger vehicle. I didn’t do any 3 pointers, but did a pull a cpl of u turns and subdivision driving. It was ok in that scenario, big but reasonable I think. It won’t be the grocery getter that’s for sure, we have a rav4 for that

    for me the ride was good, not butter smooth, but I’m not comparing against any previous tundra, nor am I expecting sedan ride quality from a big truck. Coming from a Ridgeline, and older one. It felt like a truck to some degree, but better than my memory of a leaf spring susp from years ago.& better than my current 13 yr old Ridgeline.

    in fairness the 2 were in different towns so couldn’t drive ‘same’ route to compare the TRD ride vs non TRD directly. I think the TRD may have been smoother though

    If anyone is from BC, Abbotsford Toyota has two Tundras on the lot (one pre sold), both limited. Went and checked em out a few hours ago and I gotta say it looks damn good in person. It’s probably the same size as an f150 but for some reason I felt it looked smaller.

    I think its max dimensions are on par, but the actual proportions are "smaller". Possibly could be that more hood + less cab = less visual mass, so it appears smaller. Also the front looks a bit lower than normal and that probably helps as well.

    Its kind of like reading a dyno chart. Peak hp is only one factor. Sometimes you need to focus on the total area below the line.

    Well a dealer, a large one in Barrie one keeps harping on me (they need my 2018) to come in to see the new truck.
    When I ask if I can drive it they say NO all the ones in are sold.
    The wait is 3 months on new orders with no guarantee. Just passing on info.

    Drive to Newmarket or Orangeville. Both have test drivers. Newmarket is a Linited Crewmax, and Orangeville is a Limited TRD Off-road crew max, if you are truly interested. Drive those ones then swing your deal in Barrie

    Both told me 4 months at least on the higher trims, mayber (no promises) a tad quicker on lower trims as more of those seem to be coming/made. FWIW

    I am not wasting a dealer's time if I am not going to possibly buy from them.
    fwiw Newmarket serviced my truck but their sales dept have lost 3 sales from me.
    They are always given first shot. lol.
    The Barrie dealer is on the way to a family members no big deal.
    I just want to drag my sorry ass over and drive (ride) this horse before I shoot it, or maybe I will be impressed.
    My research suggests otherwise but nothing like seeing and driving in the flesh 8^0

    Fair, my take, is it’s their job to show the vehicles. As salesmen they want the payoff for doing so. So give the salesmen at the dealer with a truck one shot to impress you, than if not. Well that’s on him for being a bad salesman. But you have driven it. I have been to dealer 3 times and each time there is a line of people wanting to drive it. It’s just their norm at dealership now anyway so not ‘wasting’ their time as I see it. In Newmarket, sales guy Mike didn’t even come with for ride, because ‘people never really test it out when salesman is with them’ . Which is a fair play by him.

    Orangeville had the exact model I was interested in, so went there first, sales guy was lame, I drove it and left. Straight to Newmarket (heading to town anyway) and drove the other one. Sales guy was better, more down to earth & engaged better. So when I pulled trigger Newmarket got it.

    i AGREE but the problem that I have is not the price on the New Vehicle. Its MSRP across the board.
    Although I admit Newmarket put some extra admin (charges) on there that other dealers did not .
    No my problem has to do with trade in value of my truck against the new vehicle.
    4 dealers are offering top buck a few thousand below what they will sell it for because they are keeping it on their lot.
    Newmarket is offering wholesale and I am pretty sure they are still keeping the truck on the lot too.
    So this Sales Person in the New Car department, is caught between a rock and a hard place because their Used Car Manager doesnt want to pony up.
    Am I being clear?

    So you put a refundable deposit down on a truck?

    So I got x plan pricing with ford and got a quote for a fully loaded lariat power boost at 73k. What do you think ? Been juggling between that, a trd pro, rebel diesel, and trail boss (2022+) diesel.

    I had a 2013 F150, 5.0L V8. The engine was fine, the rest of the truck sucked especially electrical systems. I bought the truck used in 2014 with 32,000kms on it. I sold it 18 months or so later with 74,000kms. I had over $6000 of warranty work + $1200 out of pocket. 3 Ford dealerships treated me like shit; lying to me, double billing work, high pressure stuff. Ford corporate backed them up. I was told constantly that the issues I was having were normal. Last I checked, having the gauge cluster replaced due to failure isn't normal. Nor is the back door not unlocking. Or blowing fuses. Or the truck simply not starting. Tons of other things too. Even if it wasn't a dumpster fire of a truck, I wouldn't buy another simply because I find Ford's design to be uncomfortable. The seats hurt my back and the way the window drops down towards the mirror eliminates the window ledge as an arm rest for me.

    I have an employer provided 2021 F150 at work. It has less than 7000kms on it. Electrical issues are already starting to come up, especially with the window motors. It's awesome when the passenger window likes to roll up and down on it's on at -30 in a blizzard. Transmission is slipping a bit. Dealer of course says it's normal. Oh well. Not mine. Let it blow up.

    Ah, i see. Wasnt trying to be argumentative, just wasn’t sure why 3 sales went bad. It’s more about trade in value, stuff beyond salesman control, I get it. For me my cure t veh they valued fairly for me. I’m sure I could have gotten better if I shopped more, but getting an unsold allocation to spread up delivery, for me worth it.

    Yes I put my $$ down. I am looking forward to having some features I’ve never had before & do like the truck, not perfect but nothing will be truly. They had a misorder in their favour, exact model / package allocated but not sold, so it should come in March is their best estimate vs a new order needing allocation.

    Talked to a rep at Openroad Toyota Richmond (BC) and they were saying toyota is releasing the details on the TRD Pro (and hybrid I assume) next week, they have a training course on Jan 18th on it.

    Hi Guys,

    Update for BC folk, called basically every Toyota dealer in GVA/FV to OK so that I could figure out where there at for information, allocations, specs etc.

    My summary is:
    - Most if not all the dealers and sales reps don't know anything.
    - Some dealers know what kind of allocations they will be getting.
    - Majority of the sales reps are riding the covid inflation high and laughed when I asked about deals or incentives.
    - Most dealers have their allocation lists filled up for TRD Pros, some dealers are only getting 1, some are getting 3-4, etc and basically if you haven't put anything down yet the lists are already 10-15 people long.
    - Unlikely that toyota will be running any deals
    - Majority are at MSRP

    If anyone is wanting a TRD Pro, Castlegar Toyota has an allocation of 7 and only 2 deposits placed (including myself).

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Also, TRD Pro combined fuel economy is 11.2L/100km as per my contact at the Toyota Dealership, they just had their training course today on it.

    Now that the US pricing for hybrids has been announced, shall we start mad speculation on the pricing up here?

    I'm guessing about $82k pre fees/tax for the TRD Pro.

    My dealer called me last week to "confirm what customers want". They indicated Toyota was asking for that information to inform their production. I always take those conversations with a grain of salt or two.

    A call to confirm what customers want, when production is already slated? Yeah that’s a total ‘grain of salt’ conversation.:)
    Can I assume it’s because you have expressed an interest in it at the dealership so they are now reaching out, mainly for allotment requests?

    You assume correctly. I was pretty set on wanting a hybrid and was leaning hard towards a TRD Pro. The thought of them claiming their allotments or however it works for the Toyota dealers crossed my mind as a reason for the call as well.

    For those that may have interest.
    From my research last month dealers are making about $6000 on a Limited Crewmax model 5.5 bed before options.
    MSRP has not changed; but if by chance you are looking to trade in a prior gen Tundra, those prices are up yet again.
    So dealers have $6k to play around with on the contract as far how the final numbers look.
