Like we said working in the shipping biz, factory packs for the product are NOT intended for shipping. That box should have been packaged into another. Of course with shipping costs as high as they are, virtually nobody is doing that. No great wonder product damage happens.

But it would be even. And then you can still lower the whole seat down with that big lever

I'm sure it would be fine if I was ordering a shrink wrapped pallet full of them.

Believe it or not, if they just glued down the styrofoam blocks in place within the box, it would help to isolate the radiator from the edges of the box and keep it from shifting in the package.

It would for sure overlap, the top one just about rests on the bottom one as is. I remember PHM using some washers, that might be the ticket and obviously more economical. I'll drive it as is and report back

Yes, it would be higher front and back, and roughly the same level as stock. I think most people like the angle of higher front, but maybe it's really the raised height, distance from knees to the floor part. But, if you are 6'3" higher sounds like it becomes a problem, I don't know. My big lever adjustment has been at the lowest level since I was 6'2"

It wasn’t personal. I honestly did not remember who shared the screwdriver fix, but you weren’t the only one. I was close to joining your club as well, a couple times. After being stuck at the gas station doin the key-jiggle for several minutes before finally popping, the lock was removed

As someone who is 6'0" with a non-height-adjustable manual bench seat, the seat jackers are great. Definitely keeps my butt in the back of the seat where it should be and the back of my knees are actually on the seat. Way more comfortable. Price is steep for two sets, but they are really well made. I trust them in a crash more than less threads holding the seat to the floor by adding washers with the stock bolts, so if you go that route, get longer bolts.

It took about about a week for it not too feel weird though, but that happens anytime you lose the memory of a power seat as well.

I agree with this, and believe the seat jackers are worth every penny. The bolts they supply are a higher grade than the factory ones, quality U.S. made kit that works well. Height wise I am on the other end of the spectrum, I bet they are perfect for the majority of drivers. I also need to add again that I have no drive time with them installed. Lastly, I am fixing this truck for my dad and he is much shorter than I so they might end up being perfect for him.

Anyone have a link to these Seatjackers? Are they custom for our trucks or just universal?

Desert Does It. Please double check my links, kinda not yet awake. Also, some mechanical engineers have concerns about the safety of the front jacker design from a bolt sheer perspective. I happen to be mid size myself so I’ve found no height adjustment to work best in both my trucks.

    Front
    Rear

I have some super nice aluminum / delerin rear seat risers which were hand-made by the same guy who made my SS shift knob which match the countors of the rear seat mounts. One pair of 1” and one of 1.5” and I don’t think I will end up using them. I will double check how nice they fit our Tundras sometime and probably send them to someone in this FGT circle down the road. They are beautiful. Somewhat disappointingly, both my wife and I prefer stock height.

If you have the RS3000 system with the oem oval shaped fobs, like I do, this may work for you. It works for me, though the panic is annoying and the lock and unlock buttons work like the old single button fob in that any signal is a lock of the vehicle if it is currently unlocked or an unlock if it is currently locked. Beeps the same as the OEM fob, one beep is lock, two is unlock.

You would want to confirm the FCC ID is an exact match with the receiver per this thread.

Delrin, as in the plastic? The plastic which was the downfall of Simplex back in the day, because all of their parts would crack with age, causing countless injuries and probably some deaths?

I may be wrong on material. It’s a hybrid version with an inner cylinder of aluminum for structure and an outer shell of hard plastic (I thought it was delerin since that is what he uses for shift knobs) for aesthetics matching the OEM curves. I can post a photo if you’re curious.

Nah, we're good. I think Simplex's issue may've been with how thin they were making the plastic parts. But there was also controversy over using Delrin in the Corvair for the cooling fan, with problems glanced on in this article. Delrin is definitely still a thing today, DuPont makes it. I dunno if they've improved on it at all, but it has a miserable and problematic history not a lot of people are aware of. Maybe that's why they're still using it, or maybe DuPont made changes to stop it from weathering, greying, and offgassing, getting fragile.

Yeah, I just don't trust Delrin. I've had too many bad experiences with Delrin material fatigue, I've seen it rampant both in '70s-80s moped and bike applications.

It's one thing if it cracks at an inconvenient time on a shift knob, probably nothing will happen. If it cracks on a seat riser, bad things are inevitable, just like times when it's cracked on a rear derailleur body, or jockeys, or on a front derailleur clamp while someone was riding and - teeth or noggin on pavement.

I can show you some pictures of multiple examples. Don't relive the 1970s and 1980s. We learned our lessons with using Delrin back then, the hard way. Those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it. I'm actually shocked anyone would use it for this purpose unless it's been reformulated.

Seriously. Plenty of info on the internet about Delrin and structural cracking/offgassing/fatigue. Google: Simplex Delrin Crack.

The aluminum is where the bolt shank threads through. Then the aluminum collar seats the delerin. The Aluminum is 100% of the structure. The delerin is the window dressing. If it cracks away completely it makes no difference on the mechanics.

I like your cautious approach. But I posted the photos so it would hopefully be clear how I thought the design was pretty slick. At least from a "I have no mech E background whatsoever" perspective.

TonnoPro Tri-fold installed. Not sure if I feel it was worth $247 shipped.

Curious to see how I feel about it once it has time to settle in.

Also curious if this muffles any of my sound when the rear window is open.

Interested in this for crackie, and the V6. Unsure if crackie came with RS3000, but feel like it should have. Didn't come with fob, but given it's history.... I would not be surprised if it was lost to the ages.

As far as the V6, I lost the original remote about the same time that my flea-bay replacement shell arrived at the house. Typical.

@daveeasa, what does the trunk button do for our trucks? This spurred you on to find the pop'n'lock for the tail gate?

For mine, it's effectively 3 one button remotes glued together along with one button that does nothing. :)

PS - quick tag to thank @FlightSimGuy for the reco on this. The place I bought it from only had two in stock at this price around NYE, and all other sellers were at least 10-20% higher. I Inbox/d FSG since I saw he had one installed, he gave feedback within hours. I was able to order the very last one before anyone else snatched it up.
