It's limited by Bluetooth range. Fortunately I park close to my bedroom. I think you can get a hub to extend the range.

I don’t notice any of the issues George had.
But I’ll also admit my truck is not a show truck. It only gets washed about 3-4 times a year and I don’t obsess over it looking perfect or even look at things like my steps that close. I live on a gravel road and it rains 8 months of the year here…so most of the time my steps and rocker panels have a patina that PNWers are very familiar with.
For the price and the fact I needed something with a step instead of sliders so my MIL could actually get into the truck, and they are built from stainless steel, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again.

 

Military style battery terminals installed. Snagged them from NAPA.

 

New SnugTop Rebel installed today with remote hatch latch. Also remote OEM latch kit for tail gate, both operate with truck’s FOB.

 

This may not stop cat thieves entirely, but I think it'll definitely slow them down and make them work for it. Bought the upgraded 3/16" main plate and the extra rear cover. Pretty nicely machined and good customer service, although the instructions could use a bit of an upgrade. Nice hand-in-glove fit.

 

those ramps scare me

 

I hear you but believe me when I say those things will handle so much more than a standard steel ramp. If built correctly, I suspect you can park a semi on top of them.

Guys I’m having a heck of a time finding the right part for the OEM power tailgate lock. The one on sparks parts says it’s for a Tacoma. Is it the same thing? I’ve tried searching here but haven’t had any luck. Figured I’d ask here instead of making a whole thread. Can you guys give me a link?

 

This is the one I ordered from Amazon and it says it fits both Tacoma and Tundra.

I disagree. I have a 1794 and the chrome billet grill is growing on me. I think it adds a sense of style to the truck.

 

Which are the tabs that everyone breaks when pulling off the surround? I'm about to do this and haven't researched....

 

I don't mind the chrome grille, and I don't mind the chrome surround, I just don't like them together, as it's just too much chrome for my taste. So I like the chrome grille with the body colored surround, or the chrome surround with the black grille, or the mod that I did when I went with the body color surround and black grille.

Funny story - last summer we went camping in the Tundra down in southern Oregon. Big family reunion trip. My truck (before my grille mod, when it was all chrome) was parked by the picnic shelter. The sun was hitting it just right to reflect off the grille and hit us all in the shelter. It was terrible. I had to turn my truck around so the back was facing us as people were complaining.
