Hey guys hope all is well. So I'm doing this for 2 reasons. 1) I was asked or encouraged to do a build thread by a bunch of members. 2) I'm also hoping it will distract me from spending so much god damn money on the truck. Lol.
I'm hoping it will most importantly help others and at the same time keep me involved on the thread distracting me from spending more for a little while. I promise not to drag it out too much but intend to post a couple mods daily/weekly and then take a little time to answer any questions on it. Then I'll move onto the next. So without further delay here's how it sits today.

I thought the 1st pic was a good pic for scale. Notice how it looks like my Tundra would eat up my buddy's full size Chevy?

This next set of pics below are when I first got the truck. I found a guy in PA going through a divorce with a loan in both names and she wanted out. Nice couple, felt bad, but their loss is my gain. The truck had only 6k miles on it and came with factory remote start, spray in bedliner, and all weather mats. I'm guessing we all know what those products look like so I'll try mot to bore anyone to death. The guy I bought it from also put on Magnum ICI side steps. Here's how the truck looked when I very first got my hands on it while I waited for title after paying off their loan for them.

20170121_104902.jpg 20170121_104725.jpg Stay tuned for my very first mod with many more to come. Hope you all enjoy what I have to offer.

Please post a pic of the trampoline. I'll delete this post off your build thread as soon as I see the beaten trampoline. :D

Told you I wouldn't drag it out too long. My very first mod if you will. I purchased and installed myself the driver side Undercover tool swing box. As we all know who got a 3rd gen crewmax the factory storage is useless unless you want to shove everything into that big ass front seat middle console. I already knew at this point what I was doing with the bed at a later date so I decided this would be the best option for me to take up some pretty useless space in the bed for all my tools, hitches, straps, and recovery gear. Since I still couldn't drive the truck waiting for title I figured this would keep me busy and eliminate a big problem from lack of storage.
    20170211_230443.jpg
20170211_230511.jpg 20170915_214825.jpg This is almost how the box sits today. I've since put on about another 5 different products I've used since that pic. So far I'm very happy with the swing box. It installs easy with the help of drilling a couple holes and mounting with the supplied bracket and screws. I figured if I liked it and needed a second, I could always add another to the passenger side down the road if needed.

Very welcome! You and a few others make me think I need a part time job to just meet my list of mods right now! Or maybe a job that pays 20k more.....

20170514_194834.jpg Lol Joon u jerk. Hey no worries. Leave it on. Now I've gotten over it and look back I can laugh at the whole thing even though my truck still bares the scar. Least we'll get this out there right away so everyone knows who they're dealing with here and the fact I got a couple screws loose.
For those that may not know me or what happened I can explain. See what had happened was.... lol. Long story short my son's trampoline caught a gust of wind and decided to attack my pretty much brand new truck. So me being the jack ass I am, went ape shit on it, and beat the hell out of the trampoline with an aluminum baseball bat that my son no longer uses. Yes I'm an idiot, but hey I'm human and got caught up in the moment. I kinda probably care a little too much about my truck lol. Another funny side note, wifey quickly put the kids in her car and took them all to her mother's, knowing how I would react and giving me the time I needed with the baseball bat and the trampoline. I will say this, when her and the kids got home I was all better as if nothing had happened. However, I will admit, my neighbors, which I don't really have where i live in woods, if they didn't know I was nuts already certainly did if they happened to witness me yelling and grunting as I got all my frustrations out on that damn trampoline I should've taken down the week earlier as I was planning. Go ahead Joon, leave it here for all to see. Yes I am a little crazy at times lol. I'm all for joking and not taking anything on this build thread way too serious, let's have a good time too.

If I didn't make most of my money in a previous life and buy the truck cash I certainly wouldn't be in the position I am today to drop over 10k in mods. I worked a bunch of shitty but good paying jobs and also sacrificed time with my family to make the money going into this truck. Now I've taken a step back, I work normal hours and spend as much time with the fam as I can. If I could go back and spend more time with my oldest son the 1st 5 years of his life I'd trade the truck and mods. Always be thankful for what u do have and nothing wrong with saving and taking your time to build the truck. Shit I'm holding back right now other things I plan to do just because now ain't the time. You'll get there.

I think the trampoline got it worst. A close second was the bat. At first it was my heart from the damage it caused my special little snowflake lol.

Yeah looking back on it all and getting caught up in moment, acting like I'm 10 instead of damn near 40, I can see how that can rank up there. Looking back I laugh at myself too. Lol

I saw Mike's truck when I bought a set of steps off him last spring. I said it before but I will say it again, the biggest and baddest truck I have ever seen. Sitting aside it, it made my stock Limited 2017 Crew look like a 2X4 Tacoma. Mike is a good dude too.

Thank you, me too. I'll get to that pretty soon. Gotta couple others I did before that 1, but not too far away. I did a couple little things then went a little sick there for a moment on upgrades, then slowed it down at a constant pace. But the tires, cover, and couple others come in the not too far distant future.

Keep your head up, things will get better. The work/kid balance is tough. You gotta work, just make the most after that with them and any little time left throw toward the truck. That's what I do. Not enough hours in a day but there's always tomorrow for the truck.

Hey what's up buddy. I hope all is well with you. Hoping you enjoying the steps, I'm still running mine. I'll get to them soon too, in little more detail about what I did specifically with them to make them a little better imo. Good to hear from ya and tnx for the kind words.

Being excited to drive with the title in hand after registering and paying good ol uncle Sam. I decided to take a nice long drive down the GSP, those not from NJ, that's the Garden State Parkway. Thank you GSD coatings for doing a good job covering my Magnum side steps in linex. Awesome product. For the record, I mounted the steps myself in their parking lot before I made the almost 2 hr ride home from there.
20170309_174248.jpg 20170309_174310.jpg So I liked the Magnum ICI side steps I got from Auto Anything along with the Undercover swing box but just after 1 winter with the amount of salt they put on the roads by me I noticed a very little amount of rusting. Even though they were powder coated I decided to not allow it to progress any further. Even though it wasn't bad at all and probably wouldn't bother most, I decided if I'm going to keep these steps until my kids grow up I'd rather nip it in the butt and linex them. Along with the swing box and side steps I did both of them because I knew the direction I was going on bed cover. U will see later why. I figured the linex would go great with that future addition and it would preserve the life and look of the steps until my kids grow up and daddy can get sliders.

Before i forget to mention, I try to do all my mods with the mindset of trying to add to the vehicle without changing things too much. Whether your 20 or 60 when you look at my truck I want you to say wow that truck is badass. Not to brag but that's exactly what happens probably almost 3 times on average per day from all walks of life. I try to keep it a Toyota, and not take away what makes it a Toyota. Before I add or change something I always make sure the modification checks at least 2 boxes. First does it serve a purpose? Second does it look good? If not, I just wont do it. I'm not really interested in adding somethings that only looks cool but does nothing, or something that serves a purpose but looks like crap imo. Just trying to give you guys a little insight into the mind of a psychopath lol. Anyway, rant over onto my next addition.
Before I do, speaking of psycho, remember this 1 @joonbug?
20160507_215449.jpg What's not to love a over 6ft big crazy looking tatted up whiteboy with a big crazy beard....
20170514_195247.jpg Yelling, cursing, and grunting while shirtless but wearing his state issued sandals in his front yard while he savagely sends pieces flying everywhere from the trampoline that attacked his mid life crisis lol. Where's all the cell phone cameras to capture the footage when you need it right? Alright enough, next mod.
