So I'm going to put these steps on my 2018 crewmax. They're supposed to be here on Tuesday so hopefully I can get them on Wednesday. Anyways, has anyone else done this on their 18 Tundra? The wiring instructions are lacking to say the least. I would appreciate anyone's help.

    Thanks

I did not install mine, but I LOVE them. Very sturdy (does not lean when stand on them, even multiple people), the lighting helps at night for sure, and also insures me I closed my doors haha

I have them and installed them myself. A quick search on this forum will net you the information you need.

I have them on my 18’. I literally installed them between squall lines during a hurricane 2 years ago. It was that easy.

Well I hope I don't have to do that, lol.

When I installed them on my '17 right after I got it, I called AMP Customer Service to verify which wires I was supposed to tap into. They were very knowledgeable, if you have any questions.

I installed mine on my ‘17 which I believe was the last year for true plug and play. I just plugged it into the ODB port and was done.,

Yes, the plug-n-play option was available but $100 more so I installed the wired version. Didn't realize they don't have that anymore.

Just installed these last weekend on my Tundra, between the thread on here and the Youtube video of install on a Tundra is was pretty straight forward. I will say to make sure the wiring is fed through the appropriate channels because they give you no extra wiring so if it's not run in the shortest distance possible you may have to mount the controller in a different position.

Do they still provide those Posi-Taps to make the wiring connections? First time I ever saw them was when Amp provided them and I thought they were very cool. Have bought some myself since and really like them but they are expensive.

They do but they aren't the best in my experience, two of them didn't tap properly when I was installing my steps and it drove me nuts trying to figure out the culprit.

I am surprised. Seemed rugged and fool-proof to me as long as you had the right size connectors for the wire.

Thanks for all the help. I'm starting the install right now. I'll let you know how it turns out.
