I have 265/70R17 on my 21 Tacoma.

 

They're such good looking wheels. Should be standard on all TRD Off Road optioned trucks.

 

Yes, I love the Ridgeline. It’s got everything, great awd system, great storage inside cabin + trunk under bed. So useful. Yes interior space close to full sized. Including back seat space. It’s, ironically like the tundra, a model that went many yrs before a refresh (2006/7 - 2014 essentially unchanged)
The fuel economy is a bitch - avg 14-15l/100 km pushing 250 hp v6. Pricey new gen too!

 

Straight from Toyota Canada's mouth: "the first few Tundras will arrive in Canada this week. Not sure yours will be in the first batch."

 

The Toyota dealer vehicle allocation system, combined with the Tundra being a brand new vehicle - no inventory - will force people to shop dealers to see what they have allocated coming in.

If it is today, Dec 8 and one has decided on the truck, and there is not one in the color, trim, package you want coming in to your dealer, and you want one within 1-2-3 months. You can't go to your dealer and order the trim you want. It doesn't work like that.

The first time I loaded up the Tundra and headed to the cottage it was a revelation over the Ridgeline. I was barely touching the gas going up the hills to Haliburton. Immense hauling capability and barely working up a sweat doing it. The Ridgeline all of a sudden seemed taxed. But once I got into the trails its size (how wide it is) became evident. The trees on both sides were closer than I ever remembered and I now I needed to be careful of side swiping branches and getting scratches on the black paint. And I thought the Ridgeline was wide. With the back seats up The 2.5 gen Tundra has alot of SUV type secure safe storage space. This new one not as much especially with the frame they built under the seats to hold on the batteries on the Hybrid. When I go see a truck I will look to see if the frame can be unscrewed and removed. I always run with the seats up in back and the flat floor for our dog and large items that are taller than the bed.

 

My dealer just confirmed that in Canada all the SR5 ,DC or Crew max, regular or long bed, have the 389 hp engine AND the 122 l/32 gal. tank. like they specified in the brochure. So the web site is false. and the brochure is right. he confirmed that with is order book from Toyota Canada. I hope is right !

 

Makes sense. That's what they did for the 2.5 (in terms of fuel tanks, anyway).

 

From what I can see in the specifications on the website it would only be the SR that has the smaller tank and less HP.

 

May I ask - Which dealership confirmed this ??? I want to pass it on to the dealership that I'm dealing with here in Winnipeg cause they don't have a clue as what the new tundra has to offer

Anyone here know how much the accessories will cost?
Called my dealer and asked about
Tonneau cover, bed mat, and running boards. Couldn't give me pricing yet.
Also wanted to confirm remote start with the limited off road package. And he said it probably does.

 

Go to the Toyota Canada Build & Price website and you can build a truck and select various options (e.g. soft Tri-fold tonneau cover - $824.44; hard Tri-fold tonneau cover - $1857.88; bed mat - $224.89; Predator tube step - $968.73). I'm not certain but the remote start might be part of the Toyota Multimedia Remote Connect package.

Looks like Maple Toyota in Toronto has a white SR5 on their lot. I saw a video on youtube.

 

According to Auto Trader, Heartland Toyota in Williams Lake, BC has 4 2022s "incoming".

 

They have 3 or 4 of them. I've seen a white, a black and a lunar rock. They are all sold but still there as of yesterday

 

Who are you dealing with ?

I take my dogs in the back too. So couldn't you just build a platform for the lower side to even it out and throw a carpet or blanket over it if you want it level ? You make it removable. I looked at the measurements and it's almost the same amount of storage from what I could tell.

 

Only problem with that is the interior carpet stops and the area will be totally unfinished. I saw a video of someone measuring for a subwoofer in a new Tundra...I think it was Taco Tunes. They had it partly removed.

I really like my F150 flat floor and wide open space under the rear seats. This was an obvious miss for the new Tundra. Even just having the space below left open for overflow space for snowbrush, workboots, tie downs. My dog lies in the back and stretches his legs out under the rear seat and my kids are on top in their car seats. It works great in the Ford in a less is more type of way.

Anyway...The new Tundra isnt perfect, but at least it won't have 150 things go wrong with it like the Ford.

 

I understand there is a separate thread on F150 vs Tundra. But are you saying you have had alot of problems with your F150 ?

 

They don't call it the F-150 for nothing. It only makes sense that there is 150 issues with their trucks.

 

Yes. 2016 F150 5.0 V8. Always something that needs fixing or attention. I put it all down in the Tundra vs F150 thread a while ago. Never again will I buy a Ford product. Back to ol reliable Toyota for me.

 

The prime Toyota dealership that I'm dealing with is Jim Pattison Toyota on Regent Ave. They don't seem to know much about the new Tundra at all or don't want to talk about it

That's funny to see a salesman removing the protective film. It something the techs do during the PDI. I see they are using film on the rear tail lights, something the old Tundra never did . I didn't see the hitch plug. Also the owner's manual no longer have the nice folder.

 

I see the SR5 non TRD has the driver side A pillar grab, rest assured it should be standard on all Canadian Tundras.
