Title says it. My wife does not like what I'm doing with my build. She told me not to get a bed rack because they're "ugly," not a fan of my bumper, and really thinks my wheels are ugly (like really... she wants me to sell them and they're only a couple months old). I show her my future plans and she just rolls her eyes.

I speak wife at a ninja level, let me translate, you need to spend more money/maybe time on her. They're quite fickle.

Mine is ok with it. She enjoys off roading almost as much as me so that helps. :)

My Command Master Chief would let me go all out cash permitting..She has voiced a few stipulations like no ghost flames or pin striping but over all She's Awesome about it!

Buy her some bling... she won't even hear you when you say "honey, I'm getting the TRD supercharger put on next week with a 7" lift and 35's... Just as long as she knows you spent more on her then your truck, you can do as you please. Happy wife =

Translation - you do, but cannot help it.
Translation - you have $$$, and probably well endowed.
    Translation - keeper!
Translation - not quite sure, who brought up the ghost flamey things and stripes? You?, need more info...

I wouldn't dream of telling my wife how to go about her hobbies and interests. I know she loves whatever it is she does. She pays me the same respect. That being said I've often paid for mods and related gear with cash so she has no real clue as to how much money I've spent. ;)

Ha if that were only true. She doesn't care that I spend money on surfboards, guns, knives, etc. And time together isn't an issue we get plenty of that. She honestly just isn't into off roading and thinks overland builds are ugly.

Well you are going to have this in marriage, normal. Tell her this is what you like, tell her to hate it, but let you have it. Then enjoy your hobby without her, and don't think twice. It be all good.

I've found this generally works pretty well. In my case I just need to be careful not to abuse it. Hence, no SC......yet.

I conveyed the wrong tone. We're totally good marriage wise. Been together 16 years, married 10 and we're as happy as ever. The truck isn't a source of any REAL strife. She just thinks I'm making the truck ugly, and would prefer I don't do certain mods, but at the end of the day it's up to me. It'd just be nice if she was excited about building the rig and getting outdoors.

Also, this is my daily. So going out or taking the family somewhere in some built-up Tundra isn't exactly her idea of a nice family ride, which I understand.
