2009 Tundra with 104,000 miles. Today after a 35 mile drive I stopped at a store and when I started my truck up and put it into drive the 4l light started blinking and a beeping coming from the dash. The truck would not move in any gear and in fact it would roll like it was in neutral. I switched from 2wd to 4wdh and 4wdl with no luck. I shut off the truck and restarted putting it in neutral once I returned it to Park it growled like putting a truck in park while still moving. This resolved the issue but I am trying to figure out what the heck is going on!

If you plug in a code reader, does the truck report any codes?

Do you exercise the 4WD on occasion to keep everything well lubed? Sounds like you might have a problem with an actuator.

OK, after you check for codes, let us know how you make out. Good luck.
