What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Bed lights, used a door dome light switch so the lights come on when the gate is open and off when closed. I used a factory switch, a 6” led bar from VLEDS, and a bunch of wire and loom.

 

Finally got a around to debadging my Pro. The cleaner look is much nicer. I just like the look of the Pro and tundra indented into the bed.

That was probably the first thing I did. That and a shorty antenna.

^ Looks good. I’m torn between the Fox 2.5 and the Blistens. I won’t be wheeling that hard but want to get to some off the beaten path camp site when I get my AT Summit

Finally updated the taillights no longer just the lower bulb lighting up.

Just another method: I used a side grinder and ground off the inner most rivet heads on both brackets and then drilled out the remainder. Tilted/bent the brackets back at the outer rivets and put a 1/2” spacer with new bolts in place of the inner rivets. This gave enough extra space for my Cooper Discoverer XLT AT3 295/70 R18 spare and the brackets remain functional.

 

The Fox 2.5’s are amazing especially after being tuned. Tremendous difference in ride quality.

 

Ugh…now y’all have me rethinking my entire life. Haha. I guess I could talk myself into the whole buy once cry once mindset. But how often do you have to rebuild the Fox’s?

 

It should be around 50,000 miles for straight highway use and then it goes down from there depending on how much off road you do.

 

I did a torque check on the lift I installed a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised that both lower front shock bolts were very loose, along with the LCA bolts. I wonder if the shop that did my alignment forgot to torque things.

 

$15 well spent. They aren’t hard to do, but at an awkward angle.

I had this issue as well. Lowes had some little white nylon spacers that worked nicely for me. in the nuts and bolts bins.

Installed an RCA Jack for the trailer camera.

 

My '17 DC going into her 5th winter in the salt belt.

Slimed-up with fluid film on/in body panels and I'm trying Blaster surface shield (spraybomb) on areas of high exposure (frame,suspension,rear axle, etc.).


Transfer case fluid change (31k; I did the front & rear diff back at 30k). orig fluid was clean...just brown; I use 4wd quite a bit.

 

Drilled out the rivets on the spare tire brackets in preparation for my full size spare.

 

That’ll be my job next spring to fit a 35 under there. Hopefully I don’t get a flat before then…

I swapped my 2020 Sport 275/55/20 OE setup w 2021 275/65/18 Trail Edition wheels/tires recently bought from a fellow member.

The plan is to rotate the 20s for spring-fall and 18s for winter. I’ll eventually get 295/70/18 but these Michelin’s have a season left.

A few fun facts:

• A Tundra lug nut uses a 22mm socket
• I had to donkey kick 3 of the tires off the hub after removing all lugs (2020, 4300 miles)
• Read page 509 of the users manual and then improvise
• 97 foot lb torque for alloy wheels (I hope these are alloy lol)
  
• TPMS from 2021 key start does not work with a 2020 push start apparently (thanks Toyota, like the trans cooler)
