Has anyone swapped out the halogen tail light bulbs for led bulbs? I want to keep the oem housings but have a brighter light output. Any recommendations?

The VLEDs are of good quality and you don't have to worry about the interference issues some of the cheaper LEDs bring. They also sell the resistor modules for cases where hyperflashing is an issue.

I went nuts and swapped my reverse lights, brake lights, and turn signals all to led. It didn't work well, cause my blinker started blinking fast. Found out I added too much led or probably too much "overload" to the tail light. Kept my tail lights to stock bulbs, except the reverse light which are led. Ordered the winjet tail lights again, since I backed up into my garage and cracked my previous winjet ones.

Thats why you need to add the resistor module. LEDs have a low draw. The stock system sees them as a burnt out bulb which is why you get the hyper flashing.

2018, put VLED's in rear, resistor on both sides in the rear, can see stop signs illuminate from a block away. There is no mistaking my intentions to stop, turn or back up. Good Luck and welcome.

I replaced my turn signals/brake lights this weekend. Bought the resistors to prevent the hyper flash, tried the turn signals without the resistors and low and behold it does not hyper flash. I don't know if it is a 2018 and up thing, but mine did not hyper flash, just throwing it out there. I bought the Headlight Revolution kit BTW if it matters.

We did it... But better. Based on the same architecture, but weather-sealed as well.

I used GTRLighting Carbide 2 Red for my rear signals and Auxito for the reverse and brake lights. No issues; didn’t need to wire in a resistor; I did need a resistor for my Auxito front turn signals though.

Hyperflashing was an issue running VLED 921_36_R in the rear signals on my 2021 Sport Prem. with LED headlights. Sent them back as I'm not hacking a harness under warranty.

So far I'm happy and have had no issues with the VLED 3157_50_R brake bulbs, 2018+ TOYOTA TUNDRA CARGO LIGHTS NO RF NOISE 5500K WHITE 36 LED 921 921_36_W_T_2, and 5K WHITE HIGH OUTPUT 6 LED BACK-UP LIGHT 7440 7440_6_HO_5K which were a good bang for the buck.
Also running 6000Kinterior and license plate VLEDS.

VLEDs are freakin awesome but quite expensive. I went with the Sylvania Zevo, lifetime warranty, not super expensive, and nice and bright. Plus you can get them at a local parts store if they do need to be warrantied.

Thank you for the video, its very helpful. I love the way the lights look! You have Stage 1 lights? Do you find they're bright enough, particularly during the day? With my "bigger is better" mentality, I want to go straight for the Stage 2 lights, But I'm concerned they might be too bright, especially at night. I don't want to be blinding people behind me...lol.

The Stage 1 is really bright and is perfect for daytime. You won't be disappointed. I have used nothing but Vleds since 2012.

I replaced my stop/tail lights with 3157 LED's on my 2018. Brake lights work fine but have no tail lights.
    Any ideas?

Some LED's only have a single output function. Just full output rather than a high / low setting
