Is anyone aware of options that just black out the trim pieces, but without the "bolts" or carbon fiber? I just want to turn the chrome to a solid black.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
I'm about to take a black sharpie to mine until I find a better solution. Whoever decided all this distracting chrome trim should be in the Tundra should be hit in the face with a coal shovel.

These are coming soon and I think look better than the AJT. https://mesocustoms.com/collections...7&_sid=e0d6aa331&_ss=r&variant=39548570959985

What all inside chrome parts do you want to remove?

Only asking cuz removing some means taking the dash apart. Big job for sure and plenty of folks here have done just that with awesome results.

I haven’t tackled that Huge project yet, but I did some of the really easy chrome deletes like the center console area, cupholder, shift-gate, and the other trim piece in the center.

I dipped mine (Plasti-dip) then sprayed several coats of Rust-Oleum Matte Clear Enamel. Super Super easy mod. No cutting or drilling, only some prep work/masking and in a few hours all back in place!

For the Air Vent Chrome Rings I purchased the Tufskinz.com overlays. Haven’t installed those yet, ordered them color matched (Cement) but I’m still on the fence whether or not to dip them Gray w/a few coats of clear matte. Price was the same as just black and they are pricey but the quality looks to be Top Notch.

I should decide over the weekend which way to go. As well as knowing how the fit and finish look. I’ll post a picture when done.

I like how it came out and for less than $15 that’s hard to beat.

I'm looking for the reason to order the SEM paint versus regular matte black spray paint. Can you sell me on SEM? What makes it better?

It adheres better, requires less prep, and is more durable. Just clean the surface, scuff it some, spray, and let it cure.
If you are using regular paint, you will likely need adhesion promoter (especially for the chrome) or a primer, and then most likely a clear coat to protect the paint. It depends on what you decide to use but the SEM trim paint really simplifies the process. I've done some work with Rustoleom 2X paint and the SEM and I've really like the results with the SEM and I found it easier to use.

Great thank you. I've just ordered some. Now I'll have to figure all that tight taping for the center console chrome. Will this paint also work for the two panels beside the radio?

    Tight taping?
I have used the SEM on chrome and the light silver trim pieces and its been great. I used their Charcoal Metallic because I didn't want black.

:eek2: Outstanding, I didn't know those popped out. My life just got easier. :bananadance:

I'm starting with the black since I already ordered it, but I like the idea of the other color.

Those 2 panels beside the radio is one part.

You pretty much have to take the entire dash apart to get it out.
Don't ask me how I know, found in another thread...

There are some threads on some guys painting it, and other guys replacing it with the black SR part.
Be warned there are 4 different parts.
    2 black, 1 2WD and 1 4WD.
    2 silver, 1 2WD and 1 4WD.

This thread has lots of good tips and tricks. I just used a hot glue gun to replace the plastic rivets that you cut/grind to pop the pieces free.

The cup holder surround just pulls straight off. Super easy.

holy smokes... it looks beautiful. I might see if painting is an option before I commit to taking the dash apart. Thanks for sharing those pics
