Good eye Frank. It's a 1985 250sx that forums and drives perfect. I have had it since i was about 12 and love it. Still get ridden now and then, mostly in the snow.

You can’t put a price on the happiness the hood scoop brings, not to mention the non-functional aspect of the scoop has to be good for at least 1-2 hp based on looks!

My wife asked why it was so important to me, I said, “if you have to ask, you wouldn’t understand”. Lol

Do you happen to have the part numbers for all the bolts and nuts?

Rear sway bar, trd air filter, running boards, sound deadener in doors, upgraded speakers, cargo glide, topper, Roof racks, overland awning.
I have been thinking of putting a scoop on mine as well.
Plenty of you tube videos on this as well.
I think it sets you truck apart from all the others with a great look.

Recent project, version 2.0 of the Toyota OEM LED headlights retrofit. Started with new set of TRD Pro black housing lights. Painted turn signal bowls gloss black, amber side markers gloss black, frosted LED diffusers, painted turn signal grills silver, added Prism 6" RGB LED strips to the center bar of the inner light housing. Pairing the Prism Strips with the RGB Morimoto Bluetooth Controller. Here's a few pics of the project, haven't fired up the RGB strips yet (will post pics once its all dialed in).

So what’s the best way of getting these lamps apart? I tried a few years ago but seemed like I was going to destroy them in the process.

There are a bunch of vids on youtube. Bottom line, its a pain in ass. I found that low heat longer time in the oven is what worked for me. The Retrofit Source has specialty tools that help a lot. There are reverse pliers that spread the glue seam, another tool loos like a spoon shaped flat head screw driver. Other than that time and a lot of patience..

Check YouTube to start, you'll get a base line feel

Toyota uses a something called Perma-seal rather then the much easier pliable butyl some mfg’s use. As the name states it’s designed to be permanent, hence the reason it’s such a pain to work with Toyota’s not the only mfg that uses it, I’ve opened a few European car headlights and they were much easier. If you don’t feel comfortable there are companies that will retrofit for you and guarantee their work as another option.

I’m down for trying again, I have the old chrome lamps out of mine that I’ll play with.
