That's not beer, and it's about time! (congrats!!)

Told you so! :D Felt kinda like you were making a mountain out of a molehill on this one, but I get it. Next step: Set a goal to move your next part over from one of the other SHOs? Fo shol.

That's probably only a 1-beer(water) job. GIT R DUN!

I think the next goal is getting the rod shifter sitting in the back seat swapped in. Then a complete front end rebuild. I also need to get the other one drivable, then do the rod bearings.

Remind me the condition of the three again, you're looking to get two of them running, or just make one supercar, then sell the other two off as parts?

I kept it around 20mph and really tried to baby it. I already knew from past experience that my transmission gets real hot in 4HI while going slow. I tried both and it cooled down in 4Lo. The issue there is that I could only go so fast in 4Lo. This was the first time I've seen coolant temps get over 195 even in the summer so it surprised me.

The one I fixed has a semi good black interior, but a shit body. Rust free, 3.0 from CA with an egr system. Mostly stock. The other 91 has a trashed tan interior, but clean exterior. Semi rusty from Indianapolis, 3.2 no egr. Lots of mods. But, it needs rod bearings. The 92 hasn't ran in 11 years, but has a $1200 lsd in it, and a few rare parts. I'll make 1 really nice car, one ok car, and the 92 will be parted.

Also, my plans changed on what's next. A dude offered to air up my tire (it leaks) at his shop across the street from where we were getting beer if he could check out the SHO. I agreed and went to air it up. I looked underneath and saw this:

KIMG0130.jpg

Looks like tires are next for me. I'm gonna go from 225/40zr18 to 235/45zr18 to get the speedometer a little more accurate. Stock size is 215/60r16.

Thinking about these for the Sequoia when I do the lift and front end rebuild. You're running these right @empty_lord? Any other feedback on these would be appreciated.

They make replicas with better offsets and wider. 7” is pretty narrow if your airing down or running wider tires

I also realized they’re different brands, I was just talking about the missing part, and wondered what happened to it, like hopefully it didn’t get left somewhere that it could cause more problems. That’s all. Carry on

Thanks, yeah I thought 7" was pretty narrow. 0 offset is what I'm leaning towards.
@Cummins3500 mind sharing your wheel specs on both rigs?

@NWPirate

Tundra is running :
16x8 method 304’s, 4.5 inch backspace w/ 0 offset. Plus 1.25in spidertrax wheel spacers. 285/75/16 general grabber x3’s

sequoia is running:
17x8.5 Kmc technics, 4.75 backspace w/ 0 offset. 275/70/17 falken wild peak at3w’s

I’m pretty sure fn wheels have replicas with better specs than the oem Toyota’s.

I’m 177-184 consistent. 180 is the ideal engine temp for any engine with an iron block

6k seems a little steep if it does need a trans. If nothing else you could take a look at it and see.

Kinda what I was feeling too. Figure if it needs trans and is 2WD, 4k is more appropriate. Looks like the rear driver side dent around the gas door is limited to the bed and nerf bar, but wasn't so stoked about that once I noticed it. Otherwise body looks nice. I may reach out. Still mulling.... Would prefer a '00-'04 2WD Taco with same mileage and PW/PL.

Went to O-boro to check out a door for crackie.

Door was in nice shape on the outside. Door panel was still good. Door check been completely ripped out. Wiring harness cut, and hinges cut off the donor truck. No rust on the door shell though.

Bummed about the door check. Almost scooped it up anyway to sell for parts here, but decided to pass.

Owensboro is home to a famous motorcycle racer I was a fan of, his nickname was "The Kentucky Kid". Sadly he was killed while training in Italy in 2017. I was fortunate enough to have seen him race a few occasions and even met his mom.

The best race I've ever attended was the 2005 MotoGP at Laguna. Nicky winning and then giving his dad a lap around the track afterwards was priceless.

Ive been worried about how late this plant decided to yield but this looks promising. At least 18 so far and the heart isn't fully developed yet, I may see as many as 36 if it goes well. Sounds like a lot but these are a small variety.

This is something I want to experiment with this time. Last year my plant stopped growing after and my mother in law said its dead, cut it before it rots. So I did. I had others.

Recently I met an old Filipino guy and while looking through his garden I noticed a thick banana plant that was around 5' tall and had a cluster of bananas on it. No leaves at all. I got the impression he may be chopping the top off and keeping it alive to harvest again, but the language barrier kept his secret. I need to have my wife translate for me.

Worst case, this plant produced almost a dozen other plants, and I have several types in my yard. If I have to cut this one down, no biggie.
