    #R470475144

Should be Front Skid, bare front aluminum cat. and rear aluminum cat. plates

Not sure if it comes close to it but I would do a steel-it (steel in a can aerosol) grey.

The steel order is late, almost a week late… but good news, I am going to pick up most of it today! Everything but the front skid plates. Being that your order is bare, whenever I get my hands on the front skid plates, I just need to do alittle welding and off they go. Today when I pick up I will harass him and get a date when I can get the front skid plates

FINALLY! I have the steel order! It is raining and I don’t want to slip and die, so I will unload what isn’t going to powder coat tomorrow. I WAY overloaded my trailer and truck, I estimate I have about 6500-7000 pounds on my trailer…

I will start shipping out plates tomorrow, I am beyond excited to clear my back log of the one may order, the few June orders that are left and the rest of July except a few aluminum orders. In a few weeks, I will be caught up into October

So I was unloading the bare steel that was going to be shipped and I wanted to see how the new Z brackets turned out, well, there was a communication mistake between the plasma cutter and I and they were bent wrong. I am trying to get this fixed ASAP.

So, I am having all the Z brackets from this steel order remade. We are rushing it so I hope to have it Monday or Tuesday.

the one piece of good news here, these Z brackets that were bent wrong will fit great with the plates that were bent off.

    Working on it!
The final chapter - I took Friday off to install the rear plate on the truck. My original plan was to fabricate a new bracket for the rear plate (replacing the Z-bracket) but after drilling out the first bolt slot hole, I realized there would be more dry fitting than I wanted to do, so I moved back to Tyler's original Z-bracket.

So, I ended up drilling an extra hole in the Z-bracket because of my Cali-Raised rock sliders (which I think makes the Z-bracket tough as shit now. All fastener hardware were upgraded to 1/2" Grade 8.

Here shows the Barnes bolt head protector between middle and rear plate - 1/2" bolt here upgraded.

I had to heighten the top Z-bracket hole to accommodate the sliders - I just used a larger washer to secure it.

Here's where I drilled the new hole in the Z-bracket - I believe it makes the bracket more robust.

The bolt from the Z-bracket to the rear plate did need some washers as spacers.

Overall, I installed the 1/4" square spacers on each side of the new 1/2" bolts installed between the middle and rear plates because when dry fitting, the Z-bracket on top of the slider steel created a little extra fractional amount toward the ground and the spacing from transfer case to rear plate was perfect.

This is a great product - good innovative spirit from @Classy63 taking good and bad commentary to make his design better. Anyone who doesn't think the same...well, that's what is great about America, you can spend your money wherever you wish. I'm glad I spend mine here and appreciate everyone who provided insight on the install it was good stuff!

This is in the batch that is currently getting cut at laser cut.

Thank you for the honest review. I don’t get better by churning out the same product, I get better by learning. So, I had a thought, this massive amount of Z brackets I have now are actually a 1/4” long in the way you are having to space your plate. They would fit your slider perfectly if you would like to go that route.

Attached is a picture of the aluminum Z brackets in black from the last order that fit well to the rear cat plate but still needed the spacer for proper distance from the transfer case. The steel one along side it is exact in every way expect it is longer by a 1/4”. For normal applications, this would mean overlap and difficulty installing, which is why I am getting the remade. BUT for you it would mean a Z bracket the same as you have but would fit to the edges of your rear cat plate without spacers

The new Z bracket fixed the spacing problem with the short rear plate. Mounted them today and was able to get rid of all the washers used for spacing.

Tyler, I appreciate it but I'll stick to what I have...the new hole is drilled and I don't mind the additional washers used as spacers. If someone can get under there and remove all that shit, then maybe they deserve to saw them off. I'll hit it with a little matte black paint like I used on the plates and a person will never know the difference.

Some of these folks (which I've seen in comments) do not get what you are doing - trying to make something fit every situation without modification. It's damn hard to do...and I've worked in one company (Big Ass Fans) where innovation was the lifeblood of the company. Was every idea perfect or marketed...absolutely not, but I helped grow the company from $30 million to $270 million in sales and fully believe in the innovative spirit. It takes a lot of guts to start something not knowing how it will do...so hat is off to you!

Without having to chug through 78 pages of posts (man that's a lot in a short time!), has anyone tried the cat covers with an RCI skid plate set?

Yes, works perfectly with RCI skid. The only issue is you need small hands/arms in Order to reach through the lower A-arm gap in order to reach and tighten the 2 bolts connecting the RCI skid and fri t cat plate.

Edit: someone here managed to sweet talk their wife into the task of tightening those two bolts. She had smaller arms and could reach up in there easier. He even posted a pic to show how awesome his wife was.

Only the RCI “engine” skid. The cat plates basically replace the RCI transmission skid. In the pic from front to rear it goes: RCI engine skid, then front cat plate, then rear cat plate.

so that we're not always asking, could you post the orders that are shipping when FedEx picks them up? Or is that more work than replying to each request?

I have put up batches with dates before, it was ignored…
I have some aluminum that is getting powder coated black that I am waiting on the last of it to send it out. These are from July orders

If you have a steel order to I want to say about the beginning of October, it has been cut, Z brackets were made wrong and they are getting redone. There is a lot of steel plates at powder coat now. I have started welding the front skid plates, I am hoping I have them all welded out and to powder coat at the same time as the new Z brackets.

Aluminum orders from the end of July to the beginning of October is at laser cut now and I expect to get it back next week some time.

I am planning on putting another order in for steel and aluminum likely this week, there isn’t a lot of aluminum. The steel orders from the end of the last batch to now will be done in about 2-3 weeks, aluminum is a bit longer because it gets sent out to get laser cut
