Update...I got a Prolia shot yesterday to help with bone mass loss since I'm back on the Zytiga/Prednisone regimen. I also got a new shot of "P or F". For the life of me I can't remember the name. Two people with long needles each injecting a long ass needle dose on each side of my lower abdomen! "Lay down" "Pull up your shirt". "This will have side effects". I'm like...."ok" I usually don't have any kind of reaction with a shot although my Covid booster shot made my right arm hurt a bit for a couple days. I got NO SLEEP last night. NONE. My lower abdomen is still swollen pretty bad at each injection site. This new drug is supposed to disable the prostate cancer cell receptors that like testosterone which the Zytiga in combo with Prednisone eliminates and it has. Been on Zytiga less than two weeks and my Testosterone is immeasurable! I want to take Manny grouse hunting in the morning. Hopefully I can get a couple hours sleep. The weather is going to be so nice tomorrow too. We shall see. I'l post pics if we go. I need a couple more grouse and hopefully another Hare!

I hope the shots and drug work. Gets some sleep and get some hunting in, even if for a short while. Manny will enjoy the time out!

Dang, Matt. Shots in the abdomen. For all the discomfort of that, I sure hope they work. Hope you get some rest and have a good day hunting.

Hope you don't read this till tomorrow. Get your rest, brother.

Thanks all. Just woke up and feel a lot better. Stomach still sore near the injection sites but a huge improvement. Good enough to go grouse hunting today!

My urologist called me this morning. Two of the three cancer nests can't be radiated. Would be pointless to radiate the one nest. Sort of sucks. Drugs to keep it contained. Not surprised by the diagnosis. Taking powerful meds again. Zytiga got approved. Only $8K for a month supply now. Down from $10K two years ago. No copay....I'm currently taking 11 pills each morning. Fun times again it seems....

Wow, sorry to hear your situation. I just had laser surgery on my prostrate and the lab tests came back negative, no cancer, it was just enlarged. Some bloody urine occasionally but improving daily. Prayers for you Matt.

Found out that two of the three small "nests" that radiation missed can't be radiated so pointless to radiate. Hasn't spread. The goal is to starve the cancer to keep it from spreading. Back on a Zytiga generic. Zytiga was $10K a month. Novadoz generic is "only" $4K a month. Good thing.....no copay again. On Orgovyx now too. I'm taking 12 pills of various sundry goodies....fun times is my motto!

Update.....I recently got two shots in the gut. FIRMAGON. Hurt like hell for 4 days. The Orgovyx does the same thing but another pill to take daily. I don't start Orgovyx until a week after 11/15. 11/15 is another two gut shots of FIRMAGON. Can't wait....

Update. Getting ready to see my new oncologist for the first time. UCHealth Urologic Cancer Care Clinic at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Pretty big campus. My previous doc was good but I had some serious issues with the administration end. A new national company took over. Went to crap. Could never get through directly to my local office anymore. Prescriptions were not forwarded to my pharmacy. Some scripts were never even acted on. That was the final straw. This new facility for me is supposed to be one of the best in the country.

This facility is only a mile from my house. I can see it from my back yard. The new VA hospital is also on this campus.

Well...quite impressed. Met my new doc and three of his team members (PAC's). We have a plan going forward. Pretty much the same. The cancer is small or "subtle" which is good. Sill may get radiation at some point. Labs and pharmacy onsite which is convenient. I get my lab work a half hour before I see my doc. He will have the results that quickly. Really liking that!

Matt, I have to say I’m impressed that this thread about your prostate is still going after four years.
You should change the title to Prostate Live or something.

Problem is the prostate is no longer at home......that's why any measurable PSA level is a bad thing, especially if it rises quickly over a few months up to 5 as in my case. 0.2 was a red flag. It should keep dropping down from 0.43. Treatment seems to be working so far.
