Is the intent of this mod to relocate the breather to a higher elevation to prevent liquid/water ingestion on the differential ?

Tow/haul mode while not towing is what I’d expect from a 32V 5.7L.

    It hauls!!

You can’t swap housings. The hinge is captured in such a way it’s not really able to be disassembled without destroying it

6112/5160. Ranchhand rear bumper and Valhallas Shields.
Finally got around to installing Coach Builder +1 from the group buy this spring. I'm kicking myself for not installing them sooner. Drove up to the ranch and back to drop off some stuff off. It was around a 275 mile round trip, took some back roads and was impressed with the ride expressly with around 500 pounds in the bed it was such a better ride. They definitely let the 5160 do there job.

good point, although I wasn’t thinking about disassembly at the hinge point, more as an entire piece… if he popped off the mirror, electronic motor, and wiring on his current, and then removed the mirror off a manual folding SR5 version, he could reassemble with his motor, mirror glass, route wiring through the newly installed housing, and attach as a complete assembly… I had forgotten about the puddle light at the bottom which would require some fabrication (i.e. drill a hole and move the translucent lens over from the original housing). Just a guess if it were worth investigating as a significant cost savings

saw someone had listed some take-off, direct matches for a reasonable price which would be the easier/better route.

This is totally doable. Once the round mirror motor base is removed you'll see the screws that attach the outer housing to the inner arm of the mirror assembly. The two separate easily. Someone may even have the exact plastic outer housing that he needs, sitting in storage

I finally got rid of all the chrome. Had a local body shop paint the trim pieces and I gotta say it came out pretty good.

Your mirror has the motor, so you can take it apart.
The inside of the non-power-fold mirror has a spring that is captured by a plate and a toothed spring washer that I've only seen taken apart destructively.
I'm pretty sure you're going to be stuck at least getting your hands on another motorized mirror to be able to swap parts...

I’ve swapped parts between a Platinum/1794 and SR5 mirror when I did a power folding retrofit on my dad’s SR5 and again when I added the auto dim/side mirror signal modification to mine. Looking at the attached pics will give you a clearer idea. The housing and the folding base are easily separated as the housing is held to the folding arm by one snap clip and two screws circled in red. The mirror motor is attached by four screws shown in blue

My uncle passed away last week and to get my mind off of it, I started reading @RainMan_PNW build thread. I bought and installed Seat Jackers on the front seats. I also put some TVDecals Mountains on the truck and added their heritage vinyl to the front grill. I bought some American flags but I think it'll just be too much going on. I know a guy in town that'll detail the truck for $35, so that'll be happening soon.

Just finished installing Baja Designs SAE fog lights. Had a slight problem right out of the box but Hunter at BD took care of the situation, incredible customer service. I wired them to my Switch Pros so I can activate any time and also be used as emergency flashers. 20211005_172002.jpg 20211005_172039.jpg
As a side note: I used clear rtv on the surround and, installed 2 flat washers between the mounting brackets and lights on both sides. It created a tight fit and no more shakey fogs

Unfortunately I cancelled my reservation for Tundras 2 Sedona. My niece is in hospice care and I'll be heading to Idaho just don't know when. When I registered the trail runs were booking up fast so I wanted someone to have the opportunity to go. Still hoping to get up there to meet you and see all those fantastic Tundras.
