But it clearly says TRD OR... If it was a Pro, they would have said so.

Agreed but they show the pro...again I doubt it's the PRO but I can a hope right?

Also a V6 has to cost less than a V8 motor even with twin turbos???

Drive a Toyota Hybrid? The hybrid system is constantly being used at all speeds. My wife’s RAV4 for example, on a long slight down hill at 60-70 mph it will at times only be electric. 0-25 mph it’s often only electric, if your easy on the gas pedal. I know the Tundra is an entirely different animal but I can assure you the Tundra Hybrid system will be used extensively at all speeds.

    Good point.

Damn it! I should've known that.

I guess I know what side of the bell curve I am on.

Local radio station runs promotions here for a free f-150 valued up to $52k or whatever. The flyer has pictures of an F-150 Lariat. However it is for a stripped down base model XLT with MSRP of $37k or so. Several other of these sweepstakes do the same thing.

The TRD OR advertised is probably the lowest trim TRD OR package you can get. So this tells me a SR5 TRD OR will be in the mid fifties.

The new Pro will not sniff $56k MSRP.

I noticed that the SR5 is extremely well equipped now, I saw 14" infotainment, front camera, LED headlights, LED fogs, heated seats.....

Wouldn't surprise me if it's the most expensive "SR5" ever, by several thousand dollars

How long do you think a hybrid system with a tiny 1.8kW/hr can contribute to towing, up an extended grade?

For reference, 1.8kW is slightly more than a toaster oven.

I can't wait until TFL takes it on the Ike Gauntlet and the hybrid system gives up in less than 5 minutes.

One thing I noticed in this video when the driver says to passenger that you have to slam door, is it didn't sound 'heavy' !? I know they said TRD Pro has Aluminum doors, is that the same on all trims ? ... there was a video from the debut on the blue Platinum model where the driver noticed and said when he closed the door .."it sounds like getting into a tank" and seemed really well insulated and quiet from inside.

The chassis was under bending force, that's why the door didn't close as expected

It's bigger than the Ford powerboost which is only 1.5 kWh. I think you are confusing kw or watts which is the power and kwh which is the storage capacity.

That's what I did when I bought my 17' and I saved a good bit over what dealers around me wanted.

Rust and toyota frames is nothing new, if your not heavy on preventative maintenance its pretty bad on the yota's. Not saying there are not exceptions but they tend to be pretty bad.

I wonder if Toyota said the IForce Max can be hybrid only up to 18 mph and some YouTuber misinterpreted that as the hybrid only works up to 18 mph.

I didn't know something like that existed. My tint guy cuts it manually. He tints for several of the dealers around me. Dude is good. Comes to your house and costs like 80 to do two front windows. Takes him about 30 minutes. Did my wife's car 6 years ago and still looks like new.

The electric motor can run the truck without the gas engine up to 18mph at 18mph the gas engine kicks in. To me a more ideal set up would be able to use just the electric motor up to 35/40 mph. (around town speeds) and then have the engine kick in.

Apologies if this was already posted. Hard to keep up!
But interesting break down of sales numbers and how each company is affected by supply chain shortages:

Coles Notes: Toyota and a few other imports are crushing it, so don’t panic too much.

Does anyone have experience with aluminum body panels? How much easier do they dent than steel panels?

In the case of my truck, if the HVAC fan is on, the doors require more effort to close due to the positive air pressure in the cab. If another door or a window is open, it requires far less effort to close the door as the compressed air has a path out of the cab.

No, no, no…everyone is getting this wrong. Toyota said the hybrid can only go 18mph. And they don’t mean “up to 18mph,” they mean exactly 18mph. You press the gas and instantaneously you’re going 18mph. How fast do you want to go? Well, Toyota talked to real truck owners and the only thing they could agree on was 18mph. Forward? 18mph. Reverse? 18pmh. Towing? 18mph. Want to go a a different speed? No, you want to go 18mph!

You'll just pay alot more for a properly designed bumper that will relocate said sensors and radar.
