You will need to leave a little to bolt the switch plate into. What I did was take the console out and put the plate in and traced what I need to cut out and then used a dremel to remove the plastic.

Thanks guys! Sorry for so many questions. I’m a little nervous about cutting into the plastic and messing it up, so I just wanna make sure I get it right. Appreciate the help!

It's a piece of cake. You will have to trim the plastic piece under the switch plate as well depending on the switches that you install. You will see what I'm talking about when you set the shifter plate back down.

Ok gotcha. Right now it’s just gonna be the window switch and 2 blanks. Hopefully in the near future I’ll add Clazzio’s and some seat heaters to take the other 2 spots.

@abomb60 Thanks again Adam. Fit was absolutely perfect. I sprayed mine with a light coat of flat black and the print lines blend fine with the surrounding trim. I equipped mine with switches from Air On Board to power my Baja Designs S8 in the hood bulge. The Raptor light switch is for the S8 orange backlighting. :101010:

Just printed my own using the file from this thread. Came out good, but I might tweak the size a little bit to make it a tighter fit in the console. Either way, looking forward to finally having the switches within reach.

If you're using PETG scale it up to 101% and it should be perfect.

Finally got mine painted this week and hopefully getting it installed tomorrow. Thinking about drilling out the mounting holes before I cut out the plastic so I know exactly where they are and don’t over do the cut. What do y’all think?

mid you cut along the inside of ridges on both sides you’ll be fine. Keeping the bit towards the center more on each side.

Although I did what you did. I placed the switch holder in and used a small needle to mark the holes on the console.

I had to trim some plastic below the cutout area as well. It depends on what switches are used. I have AOB so they are a little longer.

the OEM switches are long as well. The rear window switch is just over 3 1/2”.

I think most will find they have to trim the plastic underneath. That was the most frustrating part of the whole thing.

Finished, ready to snap everything back together.
    ….nope… more cutting.

For which cut, the long cut (bit going width of truck) or the short cut (bit going length of truck)?

581208FD-1C4C-4690-943C-E6FDA676FDCA.jpg Finally got it done! Thanks to all in this thread for your guidance! I didn’t realize how much trimming there would be. That was by far the longest part of this whole project.

As you can see from the picture, I had a slight “accident” with my Dremel. Short of getting a new piece and having to do this all over again, any suggestions on how to cover up that blemish? I was at a good angle and wasn’t paying attention to the neck of the tool, which buzzed the top.

Outside of melting some of the cutoff plastic into the gap I think you either live with it or replace it. I would stay away from trying to melt plastic to fix it unless you take it all the way off. Either way the texture and color will be off, so I’d replace it when you come across a cheap one. I think you could probably find one at a junkyard for a reasonable price.

I just saw one of these for sale, I think on this forum.

I know I could never live with it.

it might be an easy part to recover from a junkyard.

Like the others have already said, these pop up in the classifieds from time to time, usually when someone replaces their bezel with the SDHQ SwitchPro panel. Maybe put up a WTB ad in the marketplace and see if anyone has one laying around.
