I was actually surprised how well the stock Michelin tires did in the snow. If it was me, I wouldn't worry about snow tires unless planning on going over the pass were it maybe required to have them or chains. We had a foot of snow here and they did well in the snow.

285/65/18 is a size up from the 275/65/18 stocks. Looks good without a lift. Pic of my 17 SR5, stock suspension. 20190609_064405.jpg 20190509_174403.jpg

Nope. Had to remove front mud flap that's connected to the bumper is all. But that was probably more so because I had new wheels with +20 offset compared to +60 stock off road rims.

Offset confuses me. Higher the number pushes the tire out or in?

The higher the positive offset, the further they are in the wheel wells.

In. Zero means the center of the wheel is in the middle of the width of the rim. + Offset pushes the center of the wheel outward on the wheel, meaning it sucks the wheel/tire into the wheel well. - offset means the center of the wheel pushed inward on the rim which pushes the wheel/tire out of the wheel well.

I'm seeing that very few after market wheels have an offset of +20 or greater. I think the factory wheel is +60?

That's another confusing subject. Everyone talks offset, but really should talk back spacing. Off set tells you about the wheels off set. But the offset on wheels can be different. A +20 offset on a 8" wide rim isn't the same as a +20 offset on a 9" rim. Backspacing should be the true way to know how far your wheel tire setup will be pushed out.

Good news....picked up the truck on my lunch break. It looks fantastic (pictures to come) and no BMC was needed as of yet. They said it was super close and may be needed depending on how it settles but that they didn't want to do it if they weren't 100% sure it was needed. Really happy with all of it.

For sure. They worked on my 2002 Tundra a while back too. I really appreciated what he said about doing the BMC- "We didn't want to spend 350 of your dollars if we didn't 100% have to". They also fit me in early since they could keep it a few days and finished over a day earlier than expected.

For the beach goers in here, I spent the weekend up at Ocean Shores and drove out on the beach several times. Never went into the ocean or over deep sand outside of wet sand being tossed up from the tires or existing tracks. What's the proper 'cleaning' routine one should follow for this? Thx!

I hook up the hose and spray the heck out of everything underneath. That sand sticks so you have to hit it with the “jet” setting on the nozzle to get it off. I also try to give the whole truck a wash as soon as I can to get it clean and also suck out the ten pounds of sand my kids have likely tracked into the back door mats.

The stock tires, struts, shocks, and UCAs were in the bed but not sure how much that all weighs. I'm hoping the front settles a bit since I'll have the canopy on too. I'm currently rub free with no chopping so that's sweet.
