Then why not just go to the next notch which is 2.5 and no need for shims. My truck didn’t have the lean, so I didn’t do shims. In the end it came out perfect and did 1.5” in the rear.

 

Every truck is different.. I know my had the lean so I used the shims. While I only ever ran mine at 1.9", some users have said that maxing the shock out at 2.5" takes away from ride quality and travel.

 

People have said the ride is rougher at 2.5 and it will strain your axles a little more. Even with my shocks at 1.9 and the .5 shims I had to go to two alignment shops for them to get the alignment right.

 

Correct! I have Coachbuilder +2 shackles on the rear and with my airbags with a 10 psi minimum I'm at 25.5 inches from fender to center of rim in the rear and 24.5 inches from fender to center of rim in the front.

Just got 285/75/18 Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws put on yesterday. Had to cut the skid plate last night, remove the front flap, and I still got some rub on the driver's side mudflap I have to figure out what to do with.

Pictures this weekend once I'm able to wash the truck!

 

Darren with Boss 4x4 was where I got mine. They had them to me within 1 week even with assembling them as well. He also sells shims on their website.

 

How did you get these black? Did you buy them that way or get them dipped, etc?

 

I actually like the ride now better than stock. Stock it feels to much like a cushiony/spongy felling. I have mine set at the 3rd notch which is 2.7” for the 4x2. I am running 33” tire at 45psi and did the rear TRD sway bar. I feel it’s more rough in the sense that the small holes are felt more but when going on the expressway and not having the truck bouncing up and down like the stock suspension, it’s way better for me. I have a speed bump at the entrance to my job. With the stock suspension the front would bounce and so did the rear. No it’s absorbs the speed bump and no bounce. The way a truck suspension should work, keeping the wheels planted to the ground and not bouncing. Sucks about your alignment. We have a shop down here that the guy knows what he’s doing. I asked him at what specs he puts the tundras on and he told me exactly what everyone in here says they should be at. He said he’s don’t plenty of Tundras out of the factory with messed up alignment. Well like put it, aligned to Toyota specs but not the correct specs.

 

same thing I did - 6112's on the top notch, Icon AAL in the rear. sits mostly level, I think the back is < 1/4" higher than the front.

imo, 2.5 isn't too rough, but maybe it's relative. I used to have a '14 Tacoma with a full Icon lift and AllPro Expo springs and that was waaaay rougher than the Tundra 6112's @ 2.5. what was off on your alignment to have to get it redone twice?

 

Well got around to running it through a car wash last night, so here are some pictures. I cut a few inches off the skid plate, and been trimming the far corner of the mudflaps as I drive around and hear/feel any rubbing.

Front raised 2.5 inches

Just got my order for my 6112/5160’s. I requested and paid extra to have the Circlip put at the #3 (1.9) setting. When I got the shipment today it appears as though they are at the #4 (2.5) setting. Just so i can confirm I’m not a dumbass, is this on the #4 setting?

 

You may or may not be a dumbass - but that is definitely the 4th (highest) setting.

 

any pics of what you cut and how much? I want to go to either 295/70 or 285/75 on my ray10's.

 

What is the offset on your ray10's? Mine are the TRD rims which are a +60 offset so you may not have to cut as much. On the skid plate I took a cutting wheel and cut about 2 inches off of each "wing" on the factory skid plate.

The mud flaps I took my multi-tool which has a saw blade and just started cutting the rear corner of the mudflap. Drove around and felt more rubbing so I cut some more. I had to cut some more after this picture, but it will give you an idea of where I was rubbing on both sides.

 

6112s @ 1.3 and TRD Pro rims with Ridge Grappler 275 70 18s. 5160s on the rear.

I think mines is 24-1/2", center of hub to fender (no shims). fwiw, I also have Icon AAL's in the rear (25" hub to fender).

Went to install my front assembly and when I placed the coachbuilder shims on the top, I noticed that they don’t sit flush. Is this normal?

are those stock upper shock mounts? curious, cause I was about to order these and my 6112's reused the factory uppers.

 

Well I’m guessing that they are aftermarket since CB said they’ve never had a problem with factory uppers. They are what came from wheelers off-road. I’ll probably just end up grinding the inside of them down until they clear and fit flush. No not deal.

 

Finally settled on 6112 setting for up front and they aren't available anywhere. Anyone heard of timing to get things back in stock??

 

did you try Wheeler's? they don't have any messages saying it's out of stock or backordered, so maybe they have some in stock?

I ordered some from wheelers back at christmass , just received them about a month ago. Maybee they didnt get a huge shipment ?

I guess I got crazy lucky, local 4 Wheel Parts had 6112's in stock. 5160's and Bilstein UCA's took about 3 days to get from them, too.

 

Has anyone had an issue where the swag bar is not connecting after bilstein are install in the front? Mechanic is working on my truck now and getting that issue
