Thanks for all the help! Was nervous at first. But just had to take it slow and double check everything. Couple of times I didn't think the dash was going to come apart. Just had to use more power. Definitely took about 3-4 hours. I bought a punch tap for the plates and dash to start the drilling. But I've used that thing to install bed rails. that $10 was worth every penny.

Zilla18, I think I asked about the USB chargers before, but are any of those the 'always on' chargers? Does it depend on how they're wired? I know you can piggy back on the lighter. And there's a way to hook straight to the fuse box. Thanks!

For the charger with voltmeter, i used existing wiring that turns on with ignition. For the quich charge usb only i wired with an add-a-fuse to fuse box in the cab, also controlled by ignition. There are multiple spots that are unused in the fuse box to accommodate always on or ignition controlled. Hope this helps. If you need a pic I can take one for you.

So... the paper towel trick works like a snap to keep the bolts from falling down into the abyss. Any tips on how to retrieve a pry tool that may have disappeared down behind there?

    Asking for a friend...

Can you please share more about how this is done?

I’m a total noob to wiring and such.

I’m hoping to keep the factory usb charger behind the stereo and run a usb cable from that up to the Rago on the dash so that my iPhone has audio+charge...

And then since that one would be hidden behind the dash, I want to also have a 2-port usb like you used in place of the factory one (now hidden) going right to the fuse panel but I need some direction in how to do that, please.

Really great info and pics! Trying to decide between the two. I won't ever have anything mounted up there full time. So if every now and again I mount a CB up there how do I get the CB bracket to mount to the either dash plate? Take it apart, mount, and put back together?

Sorry for the delayed response. I disconnected the battery and used the existing wiring for the circular 12v input. The seconday port was connected with a add a fuse into the panel by the parking brake. I connected to aslot that is controlled by the accessory position of the ignition. You can connect to a slot that would always be on, but you run the risk of draining your battery. If you go this route let me know, i'll post a pic of the fuse panel.

Major props to @TSands83 for the parts list. Did mine slightly different but essentially the same. Rock solid. Only problem I ran into was one of the new holes being too close to the edge of the ICS plate. Wound up drilling through it but it still holds just fine. Would be much easier if Rago offered their own backing plate.

Anyone have the new version with the built in USB ports? I received it yesterday but Rago has no instructions for the wiring and I'm new at this.... I contacted them and they said eventually they'll make a video but no idea when.

Just Googled the Zacuto arms. Very expensive. What would the benefit be in this application?

Yeah, the backing plate makes all the difference.
    Fortunately, it’s easy to retrofit.
