Got mine in March and just about 15K. Only issue is the roof molding insert on drivers side does not like car wash air dryers. It flops off, dealer replaced once and still happens, will try some silicon. Otherwise, all is well.

8k. No issues. However is it just my truck or do the doors on the tundra not close just right? Alot of times ill hafta open door and close it harder. All 4 doors. Just a slight annoyance

I have noticed that too. Almost like the air pressure from the inside is holding it back from closing unless a little force is used

    Correct. Tight air seal.

You can confirm by rolling down one of the windows, in order to allow air to escape.

This is why when getting a new windshield, the tech advises to crack the windows during the first day, to allow air pressure to escape while the adhesive to sets. One could blow the new seal if closing the doors with all windows closed.

    Indeed.

Two week road trip in October. It will be about 4,000 miles.

    Mwah ha ha...

And yes, I changed the oil at 1,000 miles and drove easy during the recommended break in period.

OP: Did you get the new truck? Got pix?

GM seats are really really bad. They need to change suppliers.

I'm a big stickler for seats. And I have to say they're pretty comfortable to me. With all the comments I read prior I was nervous, but other than needing a little more side bolstering, I think they're good.

only thing that i dislike is how the grab handle to close the door isnt adhered and can butch up especially when hot, in other words it feel loose and cheap.

Yep, disappointed after less than 3000 gentle miles. First thing was the driver's seat belt latch -- stopped working altogether probably a hundred miles after purchase, and the truck pulled hard to the right (dealer had it for a day. Was okay for a while, now doing it again. Now the seat gives a thud sometimes upon acceleration or braking or sometimes just getting in the seat. I have also now noticed that there is a paint issue at the edge of the rain gutter with what looks and feels like dried paint droplets. I also see that there is a light dent in the body of the truck where the driver enters on the floorboard edge (the painted metal part). I certainly did not do that and I cannot image in the dealer doing it either. Less of big deal is the tailgate cables, with one being much too short.

When I was detailing and doing the running boards installation I noticed 2 paint defects. Looks like contaminants or dirt under the paint. It's in 2 spots where it doesn't bother me and it would probably be worse if it was attempted to be corrected.

I picked it up last Friday, already installed the TRD Rear sway bar and bed mat, and order the AVS in channel vent visors.

If you leave the AC on when you turn it off, then turn in in a couple of days, no grind. This grind apparently happens if you've let the truck sit for at least a couple of days, turn it on, and then turn on the AC right after. After the engine is warm, there is no noise. So if you went to the store and back when you turn it on, it won't grind. My little work around is just leaving the AC on before I turn the truck off.

Have a limited Cement Gray Crewmax I got in January 2021 (this year), no issues. Although the AC grind is annoying, I just leave the AC on before I turn off the truck.

Good to know... I have noticed a few times the charging port stops working with Carplay. Time for a new cable I guess.

Zero problems, since I bought my 21 in December 20. 5000 miles, about 200 off-road miles and I love it. My 09 Tacoma, which was the best truck I ever had up to this point had to have its transmission replaced at 1500 miles, and had a few persistent AC and fan issues. The tundra is actually far better built.

FWIW JD Power came out with their 2021 Initial Quality Study just recently. The ‘21 tundra won their award for the lowest number of problems per 100 vehicles in the 1/2 ton truck category.

I do think COVID and supply chain issues may have impacted some recently built vehicles, but I hope not.

That's because the cabin is air tight. Leave another door or window open and close the door, you'll notice a big difference.

Had the same thing happen with my ‘21 two days ago. Not sure what the deal is but doesn’t seem normal.

That's not your bushing, that's your skid play against the rear cross member. Cut a small section of rubber floor mat loosen to rear skid bolts sneak the rubber between and re torque. Problem solved!

Not quite 1000KM's on my 2021 and not an issue. Feels much more solid than my '17 F150 eco and the mileage is "slightly" worse but not bad considering.

Got mine Sept 2, 2021. Almost 1k miles and no mechanical issues at all. However, the front bumper on the passenger side hangs lower than the driver side. about 1/2" difference on the gap. It does not really bother me but now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it lol. Will be telling the dealership to fix it on my 5k service.

My front bumper was the same way. I should have taken a picture of it. I had the dealer fix it for me under warranty. There are also some posts/threads on here about how to fix that yourself. Doesn't look too bad.

100% this. I know people like to complain about the interior materials and general outdatedness of the truck, but everyone else in my family (wife, grandpa, dad, father in law, brothers in law, uncles, great uncles, etc) drives a full-size domestic whether it’s a half ton, HD truck, or a Suburban/Yukon/Expedition. NONE of those vehicles feel anywhere near as solid as my truck. The only truck I felt was as solid is my buddy’s ‘14 Chevy HD gasser. Everything else just rattles down the road like mad.

Ohhh I'll look into that. I thought maybe it was just a little QC issue with my truck. It's my first ever toyota truck lol.
I'd rather work on my own vehicles than take it to a dealership but hey if it's covered by warranty, why not? lol
