Do you recall how many wires the window switch has? I extended it on my old tundra, but can not recall off the top of my head.

Additionally, did you find a close source of dash light power for the switch lights for ran to the new location?

    thanks

The window switch is 5 wires. Some Cat3 or telco wire would be perfect, probably wouldn’t recommend cat5/6 though. I used some 18/5 sprinkler wire I had in the garage.

The climate control panel has illumination but I’d have to look at which wire. It’s another tiny one, but the red PosiTaps work fine on it.

perfect. I have small gauge 6 wire bundle I can use.

I’ll tap off of the window switch then most likely.
Just have to figure out which wire it is.

Anyone know what length M3 bolts are needed for this? Going to HD tomorrow.

If you have an Ace or something similar close by, I’d go there instead. When I looked at HD the other day the small metric socket head screws were all in 3 packs… probably isn’t a huge difference in price but I think this is the only time I’ll ever use 3mm socket heads.

Thanks, I was wondering the same thing lol.

The factory switch is illuminated too- why not just extend all five wires?

I think he meant he’s going to tap illumination off the window switch wire for the other switches since it’ll be right there now.

I happen to know of a thread where a guy can get the wiring diagrams and figure out which wire to tap…

It finally came! I need to either get some better sandpaper or fill/prime/paint the top eventually, but it fits great and holds the switches well. I drilled the thru-holes a little wider for the M4 socket head screws that I picked up - M4-.70x20mm. The screw length was just long enough to get them started while the heads weren't seated, and then heads pulled down flush after tightening them down.

Nice! Yeah the original post from @RainMan_PNW mentions the need for lots sanding and filler primer if you're looking to get rid of the 3d print lines. There are 4 solid layers on the top so you should have plenty of room for light sanding unless you're using a rotary or belt sander on it.

My CM design one looked the same way.

A little sanding and filler primer.

The hardest part is retraining yourself not to reach forward for those moved switches !!

Did you scrape the "REAR" off your window switch or paint over it?

Oddly enough, it never had it.
    Even my ‘13 had it.
Not sure how I lucked up, but it helped with looks when flipping the switch around “backwards”

Heavy duty construction marker or 90% isopropyl alcohol.

colored my volume button with the marker 6 months ago.
Got tired off looking at that one piece of silver.
    It still hasn’t rubbed off.
    Looks better in person.

Looks fine in the picture! I don’t really mind the shifter trim piece finish, so I’m debating on scrapping the AJT idea and painting the cup holder trim like yours. I am not the king of patience, so chances are prep steps will likely be skipped and regretted later.

It does overall look fine, there are just a few spots on the far end that you can see in the picture where the paint scraped off. Self etching primer and a coat or two of matte or satin clear coat after would help a ton.
