Perfect, thanks! I emailed them back to correct the order with the other part number, seems like it's for 03-06 tundras. My bolts are quite rusted so don't really want to reuse them

Flushed the cooling system with 3 gallons of distilled water.
Replaced thermostat (170°) and gasket. Since it was aftermarket the bleed valve was in the wrong place, so I drilled a 1/16" hole in the correct one.
Replaced radiator with Koyo (same core size as OEM (1.4375").
Added a bottle of Redline water wetter and 3 gallons of Toyota 'pink' coolant I already had in the garage for a few years.

    Old crusty t-stat:

Old radiator, 15+ years of build up on it.

Also adjusted my headlights tonight since I didn't after leveling the truck last week.

    Flip upside down, problem solved?

I mean, good job on all the work but are we just going to ignore the atrocious camber on that (early 300zx?) in the bg?

Was the radiator you send back a Denso? Price on the Koyo?

Keep us posted on the Koyo temperature performance after a few runs.

So I'm replacing most of my old vacuum hoses today since they were all cracking on the ends. I had McGeorge confirm part #'s.

One of the hoses they sent is completely different looking than the old one. I don't even see a hose in the engine bay that looks like the one they sent.

Old ones on the right. New on the left.

Edit- Yeah this hose is wrong. It's not the right diameter at all. Damn you McGeorge.

Yeah, thats an LS swapped 240sx drift car with modified knuckles for more angle. The camber is necessary for tire wear and contact patch at angle. It belongs to another guy in the shop.

    aaronweinberger-20210910-0001.jpg

Radiator was some cheapo off ebay. They didn't list the core thickness so I bought it to see. And then returned it lol.

Koyo is from rock auto, $136 + tax/shipping (and -5% discount) ended up being just under $170.

Such an effective swap. The GenIII motors (not just the LS) are so universally utile. I'm shocked the pile of shop stuff I posted with LS buildup and swap books didn't even get a nibble.

That looks like the part # they sent me which is 1734250140

The one I need is also showing that same part #. It's in red below. Something is wrong on the website. You know how you can click red square and it will take you down to the part # you need. It's taking me to the part# above which seems to be a hose on the opposite side of the engine bay.

@BubbaW I just heard back from McGeorge. He says "I don't know where you got that parts diagram from but it's wrong." I responded and let them know it's Toyota's website. Toyotaonlineparts.McGeorgeToyota.com

We'll see if they make it right or not.

Well, they responded back saying I was SOL. But I called them, and the person that answered was very helpful. They are sending me a return label for the wrong part, and giving me free shipping on the new part. The lesson here is to just call them I think.

Currently holding steady at 185-187° at idle with AC on in 75° temps.

If it was gonna be 106° like earlier this week I'd be able to have a better idea of how it would handle idle heat soak lol. Only supposed to be 90'ish today.

I do have a motorad 170° thermostat instead of a stock temp one now.

Some people don't like putting things in writing, others just hate typing. I've found as much as I really hate talking on a phone, probably 75%+ of the people outside of my industry actually prefer a phone call over anything else. Texts and emails piss a lot of folks off. Glad to hear they're making it right, anyway.

@FrenchToasty no skid plate now cuz I was putting on Long tube headers and just figured I'm gonna be doing more under work with Solid Off road mounts soon! Rad is by Champion Radiators. Shroud was painful getting back in so I said "oh well" and left it out lol

With an ambient temp of about 106 today, these are my numbers at idle with the A/C on, was idling for about 15 minutes waiting for my kid. Pretty sure my radiator is original, planning on a preventative replacement in the near future. These numbers don't have me worried considering the climate and circumstances.

I wish I had taken before temps of my truck.

Still holding at 185-187° with 90° ambient temps (w/AC).

Truck is an ice box even after idling 10-15 minutes.

I had a similar issue awhile back on exhaust hardware from McGeorge. Corporates website accessed via McGeorge said part didn't fit my MY but I knew something wasn't quite right so I cross-referenced part #'s to verify what I believed to be correct. Turns out it only rejected my inquiry due to a supercession in #'s. I ordered what I knew was correct.

I'm sitting on 71,475; I made another trip up to North Ga last weekend that cost me ~300 miles. I think I'll end the year around 72,500 (based on more North Ga runs).

I have a pic of when I hit 60k miles back in November of '17. Over the last four years come November that'll put my average around 260 miles a month. I think that's enough to keep it running right since a lot of these are highway miles.
