What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

For lifted trucks, it corrects the length of the sway bar end link to match the lift. Prevents premature wear of the bushings.

 

In addition to what @KNABORES said, if you wheel hard with the stock sway bar links on a lifted truck, you will likely snap them eventually. I snapped both of my OEMs, then tried two different auto parts store brands, snapping one of each. The extra two inches of length on my links prevent the suspension from binding as much as well and they've held up very well.

 

Just to add on to what was mentioned above the overland custom designs links are 1 inch longer than stock and can be adjusted further if need be. Right now mine are adjusted all the way down. They were pricey but are completely re-buildable. And I’m a big fan of overkill lol

 

I greased my frame liberally last summer with moly EP after soaking with PB. Been hitting some other areas underneath with some Skyco Ospho recently on the Sienna and truck. Will be pressure washing then spraying some cosmoline RP 342 on both before winter.

 

Tundra on callnice night out, backed up condensate drain in the basement Rec room, made a good mess, blew the line with the whipit cartridges.
plumbers should have fun tomorrow, the floor sink the condensate spits into is backed up going to the injector pumps my bet is they will say it’s a dry well and just let it overflow and say it’s Hvacs problem because it’s our condensate water hahah

oh and the attire for the night was shorter white sun dress type things, saw about 40 deep walking

Finished install of interior and bedlight LED's today. Bought good quality LED's from Superbrightleds. Thing I noticed that I hadn't really given much thought before is that any time any LED's are on my remote door lock/unlock doesn't work. Usually this isn't an issue as all the lights are off when the doors are closed but since the bedlights take about 8 to 10 seconds to turn off I can't lock the truck till they do. For now I just put incandescent bulbs back in because I'd rather have the remote. Not sure if anyone has ever ran into this issue. (Factory RS-(insert number here) style security system and remote with security led and glass break mic on left of steering column)
May try out some different brand LED's for bed lights like sylvania as @Tundra2 stated he has no issues with his remote with those installed.

 

I have VLEDs in the cargo lights. They have gone up significantly since I ordered mine.

Ah yes. We talked about a few different brands earlier. Yeah $50 for some light bulbs is a bit much. I might try out a sylvania equivalent at some point. Just want to try and keep from melting this housing anymore really.

 

Yes. I definitely would not have paid that for two bulbs. I've got much better uses for my money. Pinky nail is longer than the rest for a reason...

 

So only one of my driverside washer fluid thingies is spraying and it's a weak stream, while the passenger side is fine. This is a new development this week. They were both working fine before. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

 

A)Make sure the hose hasn't come partially loose(unlikely). B) make sure the hole isn't clogged. You can try using a tooth pick or something smaller. c) upgrade to the FJ Cruiser squirters.

So what makes the FJ squirters special?

 

I don't know about yours, but my original squirters only put out a stream, not a spray. So when I try to clean the windshiled it only soaks a tiny area. The FJ cruiser nozzles send out a spray.

JBA LT headers, Dirty Deeds full race exhaust, 12 hole injectors, K&N modified stock box, Roar Pedal controller, leveled with Belstien 5100, Sumo Springs, Helwig rear sway bar, 20" 4Runner limited wheels w/ Fallen snowpeaks, have everything ready to do electric fan conversion. Wanting a tune but DAP is busy! So if anyone has info on anyone that knows how to tune these first gens, pass it along. It can be done, requires a pig back ECU.

 

Good luck with the tune, not sure there's much to be gained there. I would skip the electric fan conversion. Especially if your towing. Truck looks awesome. Love those wheels on there.

DAP claims 19 top end and 22 low. More about bringing everything together and running with a more suited mapping. Could be right about the fan but I tinker and can always go back.

 

@Brewer50 sweet set up! I have the same exact mods, except I'm running a AFE Stage 2 cold air intake and URD MAF Calibrator. I sent my spare ECU to R9K in PR for a reflash, they claim remapped fuel curves and removal of governor.

 

@KingSequioa007 funny you bring up the URD MAF calibration unit. I'm currently trying to sell mine. Won't work with air pump delete kit. Never heard of anyone being able to tune 1st Gens, only with a piggy back. Anymore you could tell me about that. Noticable? Everything worked. Wasn't a remote tune?

 

Get a bright enough flash and you'll temporarily blind them long enough to escape unidentified.

 

@Brewer50 works perfectly fine with my air pump delete kit. Had a tuner in Huntington Beach load a map onto the Calibrator and got decent pulls on the dyno with it. The reflashed ecu I sent R9K, I still haven't got back. As soon as I do I report what improvements it made or not made along with a 2nd dyno tune. With your 12 whole DD Injectors, did you do any aftermarket fuel pump upgrade? URD makes a nice kit for our trucks.

 

@KingSequioa007 that is very interesting that you did not get any codes. URD did make it sound like it doesn't always happen. Maybe I have a different problem, but only comes on with the calibrator. No pump upgrades. I did add them to a stock truck other than air box mod. It was very noticeable.

Just ordered new lower ball joints and bolts for my 2005 AC 4x4, but I'm confused on which bolts are correct. I ordered 90080-10066, but McGeorge Toyota emailed me saying the correct part number is 90105-12316. Anyone know which one is right?

 

@aknickyota22 that 90080-10066 isn’t the correct ones. I did the same thing and ordered those and they were too small. Didn’t catch it till I had already pulled my old ones. I ended having to reuse the old bolts.

I haven’t seen that other part number anywhere
