Thank you for the kind words. About 5 hours.

Thank goodness, I started while my big tree was blocking the blazing sunshine in the driveway.

I believe they are some older spider taillights. I got the tundra with them already on. Fitment and output are OK but they have some leds burned out. I'm going to go with the alpahrex taillights most likely come this black friday.

Nice, my tundra came with an old alarm that has 3 damn annoying beeps and also can't unlock all doors with my keyfob. Only unlocks driver door, might have to look into this.

Installed Iron Bull front and rear bumpers. I traded my stock bumpers for these bumpers. Found a guy on FB Marketplace wanting stock. I traded straight up. FREE! $3,000 worth of bumpers. They are heavy but they will do for FREE :)

Had a left turn signal bulb go bad on an replaced it with an amber bulb, think it looks better then the off white bulb that on there before. Also replaced fogfights recently to some leds from Amazon.

I am about to cross 100k miles and this did not occur to me to be an item to address. Were there certain signs that made you believe this needed to be cleaned? Was the truck performing oddly? Can you explain how you cleaned these two things and anything to look out for or avoid?

It’s a pretty straightforward job. I pulled the intake lid and intake tubes. From there it’s 1 electrical connection and 2 Phillips head screws to remove the MAF sensor. I would only use MAF specific cleaner on it. (Do not drop it)

Throttle body is 1 electrical connection and 4 10mm bolts. I just left the coolant lines connected to the TB. There is plenty of slack on those lines to lift the TB and put rags down over the engine. I used a whole can of TB plate cleaner and a rag to wipe inside clean. Reinstall and you can be sure you will see your idle RPMs go from 600 - 1,000 just until the truck’s computer relearns idle. (Couple days)

There was nothing wrong with the truck that made me do this just trying to keep things clean and running well. It’s one of those things I hope to not put off this long next time. I would recommend every other year cleanings max.

For me the only way to explain it, the truck felt like it was gasping for air while switching gears. When I first bought the truck from the beginning I felt it that way I thought “ well it is my first pickup maybe this is how it feels” when I finally found the forum and read a lot of guys doing mods I decided to put my hands under the hood and clean the throttle body. It was filthy, at least Shane was able to see copper color on the back mine was pitch black, there were bits of gunk falling off of it. After cleaning it the truck felt like it was breathing much better of course after that I added the TRD Airflow Accelerator and the aFe Dry Pro filter so so so so much better

I did feel that same change you speak of. For me it was when I smoothed out the tubes on the way to the TB.

That’s very creative. With the mod did you notice anything different? Maybe MPG gains or maybe a little louder under the hood? I’ve got the 8” exhaust system from DD and I’m loving the sound so I’m looking for anything that’ll make it stand out without breaking bank

I definitely noticed more of a grunt under the hood. The air is less confused feeling it’s not bouncing around inside the resonator. I also did the TRD accelerator at the same time.

As far as MPGs I really don’t think so. I did see an increase in gas mileage after I swapped the diff and trans fluids. Guess less friction down there.

I think I have a caliper dragging a bit in the rear now. I’m chasing a squeal at low RPMs. It’s sure to hurt MPGs

That being said my commute is 90 miles a day with mostly freeway miles. Computer says 13.9 MPG with 295/70/18 load E rubber

    As promised the report:

it’s been well over a month now and my report for the MPG’s are mix. Before the swap I was getting 14.0 now my area is all city I live in the Bay Area so there is a BUNCH of traffic not LA traffic but still enough. There are a few hills here and there and very high winds. I do hike and I’m always up and down the mountains so yes I believe the 14.0 reading seemed accurate

After the install I went to Lake Tahoe and in those hills I can tell you it felt HORRIBLE. That pedal made my truck feel like it had no power at all. With the old pedal those hills were a breeze. While in the Tahoe/Reno area my MPG went up by 0.3 which is my typical gain after a long trip and it remained like that while in the area. I also noticed the more I drove around the better. That pedal break in process was a bit long but those hills and open highways really helped me out.

After I returned I kept an eye on the reader and it stayed the same for about a week or so. After it dropped down to 14.2 which I wasn’t expecting in all honesty I was expecting to drop down to my usual 14 as it always does after a trip but nope. Now I know I said on the hills it sucked because at the beginning it really did I mean I had the pedal on the floor and no budge but most recently I went to Stanislaus National Forest/Mono Lake area for some easy off roading and the pedal performed great. Of course I’ve had some time from July 19 to now to really test the pedal up and down hills and mountains and I’ve got it exactly where I want it. All control to me the pedal reacts exactly when I want it to react like it did originally, no more mountain/hill driving problems and definitely no dirt problems.

I’ve recently purchased a DD system and I can tell you I have been rough riding that thing like no tomorrow. MPGs have stayed the same and I cannot be happier with that pedal on because the old one would’ve had me bouncing around with the added power.

I hope my report helps you in some way and I do apologize for the long report lol

I like that, that’s exactly what I want to continue doing. Like I said before, what I’ve gotten out of this truck is a feeling of not enough air flow I might be way off but I’m looking for anything that’ll let her breath better and better.

All things considering, I think I might do the same mod to the tube as I am already thinking of doing the throttle body bypass and I’m glad you mentioned the diff and trans fluid change because that’s also on my list to cross off seems like it worked really well for you. And with the size tire and commute distance yes I think the tube and the fluid changes will definitely help me out. Thank you sir do you have the link to the mod by any chance?

Finally installed the door light led and interior leds from kit I got on Amazon. Looks modern but the interior dome leds a little to bright for my liking. Easy cheap upgrade though.

So if I read correctly the Powertrax grip pro works with the stock LSD to improve it right? I’m assuming this would help a whole bunch more with off roads in some, not all, but some areas where 4x4 would be ideal. I’d love to hear feedback on this from you and what areas you’ve used it in

Well reason behind me buying the LSD and the new gears is cause I am running 35's and have lost A LOT of mpg since my lift and adding additional weight from the tires and the bumper so I would like to get a little better mpg and also not dump so much gas into engine when my foot is half way down on the throttle
