I’ve had them since mid July. Haven’t really had a chance to get them on a long dark stretch of highway yet to see truly how far they reach. I will definitely say that they are far better than the Sylvania halogens that I had in there.

If I had one complaint it would be the color. Nowhere in the listing (when I bought them) was a color specified. When they got here the box had 6500k checked. To me, there is just a hint of purple to them which I feel is kind of “hey look at me, I put purple bulbs in my headlights” which is totally not my style.

Regardless, there’s no doubt that they are a serious upgrade over stock. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't hesitate to buy them or maybe some other brand that had a 5000k option.

Cool. I’ll need to do some research it seems. I don’t know what 6500k or 5000k option means(guessing light color) I don’t know much about headlights but my first thought after reading Purple was… “damn that dude’s headlights are blinding me.” Are they one of those headlights? The kind that blind everyone else on the road no matter if they are adjusted correctly or not?

65k is the weird color I believe, stick with 5 or 5500k

2500-3000k is gas lanterns yellow, 8000 is nuclear blurple laser photon color. 3500-4500 is a brighter whiter light. 5000-6000 is brighter and starting to get a blue hue to them. Above 6000 the colors start to get psychedelic and belong in those Carolina squat mobiles. Maybe they are aiming them at the sky to communicate with aliens on their wavelength?

Lol. Got it thanks. Can I get your opinions on this set fellas? There are a few add on options it seems and I really don’t know if they are worth including…

    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/bi-led-morimoto-m-led-2-headlight-projectors-P-M-LED2?quantity=1

These have been on my list for a while. Even have a set of OEM headlights sitting in the garage waiting for the swap. Just haven’t had the opportunity to learn enough to order the right set. I want to avoid light bars on roof rack and spot lights. Hoping to get a good enough headlight setup where I can light up trails out in the middle of nowhere at midnight.

I’ve done a good bit of adjusting in order to avoid that. I think the cut off line really solves that unless it’s topping a hill or something similar. So far I haven’t had anyone flash me. I used to get it quite often with halogens.

I paid for the roof. It was a bad repair job by a shop the previous owner chose.

I wish I could help you bleed those brakes. That's crazy how you still ate fighting them. You have more patience than me lol.

I still have my 13wl calipers sitting around and can totally donate them if need be.

Did you ever do the t100 MC & booster upgrade?

Thanks Gabe. I appreciate that. I haven't done this swap yet. I'm still unsure which direction I want to go. I feel like I'm missing something but don't know what. 5-10 other people have done 14WA's without needing the T100 parts so I'm unsure what the deal is.

I was wondering that maybe something weird happened to your current MC or something. I'd assume you gravity bled and then actually bled every corner including the lspv a billion times by now

Anything is possible. Toyota doesn't make master cylinders for my 02 so I went with a Raybestos unit. I've paid Budget Brakes to have them pressure bled twice. I tried a reverse brake bleeder and I've done the two person method a comical amount of times. A few months ago and I even re-bled the master just to see if there was still air trapped in it. No change. I'm pretty sure I'll be working on this until I die, or just burn the truck to the ground.

I've been eyeballing those for a while, but have two concerns. They are 6500k color which to too blue for me. Also, 4500k to 5000k is the sweet spot for actual visibility, as the color gets higher on the scale it actually gets dimmer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v4QgnPLjVU

Second is in colder climates like Colorado, the led's don't get warm and melt snow off the headlights. That's why morimoto came out with led bulbs that blow the heat onto the headlight, but these don't have that feature.

I just ordered the full D2S HID retrofit kit for those reasons.

Some of those lights come with a small sticker you can put on the project that changes the color. Maybe you can find just the sticker.

These brakes can be incredibly frustrating. The fronts are too simple to fail aside from a sticking caliper. If the MC, booster and ABS are fine, which they probably are, then those rears are where the issues lie. If the rears are dialed in, the fronts behave much better. Good luck with this!

I would like to replace some of the rear components this year, at least the springs and star wheel's. They are not self adjusting like they should. The shoes have a lot of life left.

That said, I recently jacked up the rear tires and adjusted the shoes until I could both hear and feel the shoes dragging when I spin the tires. I don't know what else I could do back there. I've tried moving the LSPV all the way up and down, and each place in between and I can't tell a difference.

I can confirm that after I drive the rear drums are HOT. If there is anything else I should do back there I'm all ears at this point.

How's the parking brake adjustment? The parking brake adjusts the lower part of the pad, the starwheel the upper. If your parking brake isn't working, it's a sign that there's some adjustment needed there.

The parking brake actually works very well. I took some of the slack out last year using that turnbuckle under the cab.

@jpink is working on a brake troubleshooting guide. I think my bell cranks may need adjustment.

    He made this.

Did some plumbing work, plenty of pitch! no more dripping into the sway bar mounts. I used 3/8 reefer tubing and swedged it open a hair. EB4B52A0-587F-4053-9D14-0C3F5EBA3247.jpg B65EFF98-B79D-4B4C-8189-8F25C4E8362A.jpg

Eh I’m tempted, but I have a 06, not sure if you have all the same mounting points over there. Do you have that abs spaghetti thing going on over on the passenger fender?
