    Didn't the tundra also tow the space shuttle more than 100 ft? A little up hill as well, if I remember right?

    Just towed it across the 405 freeway. It was driven by four robotic vehicles for most the trip. The reason for the Tundra doing this pull was because the weight of the four robotic vehicles plus the Endeavour, approximately 650,000 pounds, was going to be too heavy to cross the Manchester Bridge. It drove at 2.5 mph in 4-Lo. Toyota put a 1,700-pound weight in the back to give the rear tires some force for grip and the tire pressure was lowered to give the treads as much contact patch as possible.
    Weight was 145 tons.

    There is virtually no weight on the truck hitch, as the plane supports its entire load and is completely balanced. Unless there's something causing friction on the wheels, I see no reason our Tundras couldn't pull that plane!

    Yes, no weight on the hitch so no weight on the bed. That's why it needed the 1700 lbs in the bed to get traction.
