Got these Depo 05-06 tails today. Quality and fitment are pretty good, though the driver side tail doesn't fit quite as good as passenger. I originally wanted to keep stock harness because of the 3rd brakelight and reverse camera splice but not sure if its these repro’s or factory but the factory harness nor bulbs would fit in the new tails. So It gave me the opportunity to rewire the 3rd and camera with new harnesses.

definitely gives it a more modern look which I like, just dont like them not being OEM. Maybe if I come across some money Ill buy oem ones but for now they’ll do.

Nice! I’m in exactly the same boat. Pulled all 6 today. One is a Depo, small hit to the driver side fender while the other guy owned it. The others are all OEM. Dunno what my plan is.

Looks good to me. My tails aren't oem either, a lady backed into me about a year ago and I bought some $40 tail lights to drop in. I often forget they aren't oem.

I washed my truck and tried to clean the oxidation looking crap off my roof. Some came off, most didn't. Gave the roof a coat of wax to see what would happen, the perimeter shined nicely but the giant oxidized area still looks like shit. To be fair this was done by hand. I will try once more in a month with the buffer, if that doesn't work its monstaliner time.

Got to see that weird led light in action in my garage. Fawking blinded myself again looking at it. I never learn. Its pretty damn bright in here, no dark spots other than the shadow my door is casting.

That's where I was leaning but I didn't see OEM headlights as available? I can look harder if that's what I need to do?

I'm warming up to the 05-06 tails, they always looked a bit like some rhoids to me and I rather liked the amber old-school style but I would imagine the sealed connector would make me happy.

Hopefully I'll get some time to hunt but tonight I have to crimp b/c people need their harnesses and it ain't gonna crimp itself now is it?

Got it, I have to buy all 05 headlights and taillights for my 02 truck if I want to be cool. Consider this done.

You aren't alone there. Its one of my favorite parts of my truck. I think the color looks especially nice on black.

Oh no! Don't quote me on this but the clear coat you used may not have been good for plastic.
Looks good. Everything I have read, say they are a direct swap? I have a linked saved on fleabay where multiple have left reviews saying they swapped them into 00-04 and it was plug and play.

you will need to wire the extra headlight marker lights to your park lights too. but the physical headlight should fit fine.

Im not sure. Technically they are plug n play, but you have to pull the old tail light harness, which uses the same connector. Maybe oem tails use the same size bulbs and are interchangeable but mine was not.

I've heard on reviews and such before that the aftermarket tail lights have a different cutout for the light sockets to go in and you have to use the harness that comes with it for whatever reason.

I'm thinking about switching to the 05-06 tails. My drivers side light has the reverse light busted already anyway.

I've never liked the 00-04 tails, but on your truck they look good. The 05-06 tails do too. I'm torn. Never thought I'd see the day.

I hate the amber lenses. Some guys say they prefer the old skool/retro look but I am strongly considering swapping them out.

04 Tundra seems to be the last truck Toyota made with amber lenses on the tails. The end of an era.

    DO IT!

I think the amber lens setup looks find with the early model front-ends, the chrome-lined grille insert and fatty chrome front bumper. Ties it all together.

But yeah, if you hate it, ditch em for the newer ones.

OK, if going to 2005 heads and tails, I think these are the correct tails but I think the headlights are DC, still hunting for RC/AC '05 headlights.

    upload_2021-8-25_9-24-57.jpg

I'm guessing probably these labeled "Composite Assembly"?

What year is your truck? AC/DC headlights and tail lights are not interchangeable.

Yep, understood. I'm 2002 but Dan said to go 2005-2006 on headlights and taillights. I'll have wires to deal with I believe, that part I can handle. From the photos it looks like things should bolt up OK if I do indeed have the correct AC/RC headlight parts here:

Not perfect but I gave up for now. I did the other one after this picture and it came out slightly better. But I need my truck so I put them both back in for now.

The headlights might interchange but offer no benefit that I am aware of so may not be worth doing, especially if you have to fit them. The bulbs are the same so there won't be any issues with wiring. If the headlights in that picture are correct, those are DC lights. You can tell by the little running light in the corner (194 bulb).

These are all the light numbers I have for my truck, which is an AC w/DRL. I specifically had to order this stuff recently, I just swapped out my headlights last month, caught a deal around Memorial day for around $225/ea. Yes, it's the full assembly, new lights and everything.

81150-0C040 (DRIVER headlight assy, DRL, late model Access Cab)
81110-0C040 (PASSENGER headlight assy, DRL, late model Access Cab)
90159-60603 (Headlamp mud guard screw for $1, 1 per side, AC/RC only)
90119-06830 (Headlamp assembly bolt for $1, 1 per side, DC only)

    81570-OC010 => 3rd brake light complete assembly
81572-OC010 => 3rd brake light gasket (between lens and basket, not basket and body)
    81571-OC010 => 3rd brake light lens cover

    Thanks for that catch.

I believe '02 headlights are unobtanium but I can keep searching the part number, maybe I have to try different dealerships.

Are you looking for OEM or would aftermarket suffice? 00-04 are the same headlights.
