I used an adhesive promoter. Time will tell.....

 

Decided to added Deaver’s in the end. Pretty sweet. I think a shock upgrade is in order. But what?

Edit 9/18/21: Rustoleum rattle can holds up to UV, Seymore getting/is flat. I forgot to take a pic today, but I'll try to remember to add.

I expected I would be, but I'm a fan of 700# springs on coilovers for DC tundra. 650# is the Access Cab rate, and King also ships 650s with 2.5 OEM coilovers for the DC. Switching from 650# to 700#, I got same ride height with less pre-load, more droop travel (very much underrated IMO), and a better ride on hits and humps. Fast and slow. I also have room to add more preload if I add armor, and keep height.

I can't see any reason to run 650# over 700# on a DC. The added droop travel alone wins.

 

I’ve been posting and commenting on other threads, I think I’m fairly up to date, but here’s today. PS, my truck has no cabin air filter, lol.
This is bed/cargo tie down mod, with bed mat mod.

 

The Deaver springs in the rear (G57) are very nice - but, the driver side is riding higher by about an inch or so. Maybe the right side settled sooner? I have read recently that the 2.25 width stack settles/sags eventually. In this case, not at the same time, not on the expected side. I'm going to relocate my shock mounts for more travel, (not related). I'll contact Deaver before or after, probably before. I did see a post about 3" spring width, sounded promising, not sure where it ended up. Regardless, I will update with my results.

Edit: great springs, not for my application. The ground wasn't level enough to measure properly.

Agree on the Seymour... poor UV resistance, grr. I'm planning to re-prep my Seymour areas and re-coat with rattle-can Raptor this winter.

Me too. So far I like the quality. There are a few differences in different trims, years of Gen 1 that determine a few steps. That part is a tad confusing. One lame thing is Toyota did not square up the front of the bumper mounts. They angle out, so I’ll be shimming the outboard bolts. Also, not all trucks have a crossmember there. Mine does and is has to be trimmed. That’s easy, but I’m going to need to go back and see how it fits in there. Only bitch is that I noticed after welding that the plate that goes between the primary mounts, is interfering with my rear winch holes. I don’t know how that’s even happens. It’s a straight shot. I’ll need to fix that.

Yes, I am. I’m no master welder, but I can get penetration and know how to avoid most warp. The finish seams will be a challenge. Wind was starting to mess with my shielding gas outside. Glad I’ll be able to do most of those welds in the shop.

Here’s where I decided to quit today. I need to be fresh to figure out a couple of things and get my lines right moving forward….

Yeah, I think its 105 lbs. Probably on the lighter side of winch steel bumpers, but it is weight...

 

my biggest reason for aluminum is the ability for it to not rot away out in my environment. lol

 

Im going to have my body guy spray mine with the same bedliner type coating he sprayed the boys 4R with. But in the meantime, I asked him what to put on it before rust starts and that will be a good undercoating. He directed me to POR 15. Ill be picking up the degreaser, etch and paint in a day or two.

EDIT: I sprayed it with Raptor Liner 2 part rattle can.

 

My thoughts exactly. I let someone borrow my truck this weekend and it was in a minor fender bender. I've been looking for aftermarket bumpers but it seems it's none, or $1400+ lol. That's almost half what I paid for the entire truck!

 

There is always getting it galvanized and painting or whatever over it. There's a place around here that would do it by the pound. They started at $200 or something like that and that covered up to 200lbs. I have been tempted a few times to send my sliders and eventual bumpers in.
