Black OEM Interior Trim

The trim isn’t sold without the buttons - you have to buy the whole thing as one unit (it’s actually both left and right side buttons and trim, with the wiring harness that connects them.

Sounds like you just saved me $1000. I think I'll stick with the paint. If I'm going to do it all black I want it to be consistent. That's a fatal flaw for this truck. I'm not quite sure who thought 3 different finishes was a great idea for this truck. I hope that is something addressed in 4th Gen

 

Think what I am going to do to mine is oem black center console piece, but retain my chrome vent rings all around. Oem black steering wheel trim. Black door handles replacements. And try to vinyl wrap the silver trim on the door panels and shift surround.

Since I can't reliably paint the chrome cup holders,(hate the look of ajt stuff also, sorry) I'm just going to retain the chrome accents and get rid of the silver trims pieces

 

There is someone out there, whose name escapes me at the moment, that makes decals for the air vent covers. I'm.sure if you dig around the forums it'll pop.up. Check Etsy too

 

Yea I've seen them but they look a little meh imo . tuffskinz I think it is.

Honestly the chrome accent doesn't bother me really(except when the sun hits the cupholder) I like that it breaks up black a little.
What I hate most is the large silver trim

 

Someone in the “DO NOT BUY” thread had not-very-nice things to say about those. Tufskinz makes some good stuff, but sounds like those aren’t one of them.

 

Me, they sucked.

I have replaced them with AJT back vent covers, which I (and many others) are happy with.

As for the cupholder, it was the first piece I blacked out. It pops out easily and I Plastidipped mine. It's been holding strong for a year now, constantly gets used and not a single mark on it.

 

AJT makes some fine stuff though not my taste. I personally don’t like the “lego” style of his accessories. Please don’t hate. Just my opinion. I wish someone would make a smooth matte or gloss ( either is fine ) finish. Might be best for the factory black ac vent/trim pieces. For me, a factory look for this truck is more appealing even though it comes with a price.

There was a guy or two making 3D printed ones here a few months ago. They were flat, a bit rough but many were loving them.

I'd have preferred a flat version too. It's why I did my own shifter bezel and cup holder trim in Plastidip

(Extremely dusty, I know)

 

Were you able to black out everything with OEM parts.??

I would like to try to put together a full OEM black out parts list for 2021 tundra SR5…

 

Did you ever put together the OEM interior black list? I would be very very interested in that OEM list being posted here.

 

I'm also going to try with 4runner steering trim, they are much nicer than our Tundra ones, it feels nicer to touch as well.

So my Amazon impulse purchase came in lot earlier, and to my surprise, the quality is pretty damn good, it's 10x better than I thought, it's a really tight fit, with all these cf bits, my truck also feels faster.

There is the chrome strip on the door panel below the arm rest and it looks like that piece is NOT separate and you have to get the whole door panel. You can buy epoxy, take of door panel, paint the piece and apply epoxy to mount it back as you will have to break the tabs to get that piece out.

I used AJT for the chrome pieces like the climate control knobs and other stuff they sell.

I used two short black pan head screws at the seat edge of mat. Worked great and cheap minimal fix

Posted on the 2.5 Gen What have you done thread but I will post here to show the center dash in black instead of silver as others have also done.

 

Does it match the dash as well as it would appear to in the picture?

 

A whole lot more than the silver. It matches the black well and blends nicely with the "platinum"?

 

So you are saying your dash is black? I had to go outside and look at my truck again. I have 2019 SR5 and I would have bet money that the dash is dark blue. Looking at the 2019 Tundra brochure, I see the available interior colors are Black, Graphite, Sand Biege, and Brown, and according to my sticker, I have the Graphite interior. No matter what Toyota says, I still say the dash looks dark blue to me and the seats look blue also (and yes, I have been checked for color blindness).
