Black steering wheel switches

Many thanks to @PRO BLANCO for trying this swap. The steering wheel switch from the TRD Pro 4Runner found here: https://parts.toyotaofcoolsprings.com/oem-parts/toyota-switch-assembly-8425035080c0 will work for the Tundra. I know a lot of people have been asking about making the swap because they want a blacked out dash and steering wheel instead of the silver one. Plugs are the same and all the buttons work as they should.

 

I’m sure there are pictures there somewhere, but I can’t see them.

 

How was the swap? Looks like the wheel needs to be removed?

 

No, you remove the airbag and these are the next to come out. ... super easy

 

Im assuming you have to purchase the full assembly? I painted the trim a few years ago but my volume up/down button is still silver and sticks out like a sore thumb 2015/SR5

 

Damn, that looks nice. Wish it was the same as the 2020.

 

That looks good. Something to add to the list if i ever decide to actually black out my interior

Like @TXTundra2722 said it’s super easy. I was just switching my steering wheel to a leather one.

 

Ya, I believe it’s cause both side wires go to one connector.

 

Do they have an option that will fit an 2018 or newer with the additional buttons on the right side?

 

What year range does this work on?

 

I was gonna vinyl wrap the trim, but this button... I will say, I really want this button to be black...but 340 bucks for a button is insane. nope

 

2014-2017 tundras.

Cause I believe the 2018+ have the TSS buttons on steering wheel. But I could be wrong.

 

This is from 2020 4Runner TRD PRO.

not sure if it’s same buttons as 2018+ tundras.

@Vendeta2k did you get a chance to look if the 4Runner one will fit 2020 Tundra TRD?

 

@Roman I've done a bit of research - I believe part number 84250-35130-C0 (2020 4Runner black steering wheel controls) will fit 2020 Tundra TRD Pro. Since the image on the parts website is only a wire frame drawing, it's hard to tell if it has the same amount of buttons on right and left. Can you confirm? A picture of my steering wheel is below.

 

All of the buttons appear to be the same.

 

Is there a 4runner wheel that comes with these in a leather rim option? I'd like to black these pieces out, but also wouldn't mind switching to a leather rim at the same time (was originally thinking the taco wheel).

Edit: Just found this image on the ol Google machine, site doesn't say what package it is though.

Unfortunately, no volume button sold separately. It comes with the entire steering wheel switch set up.
